I have had this trash can for about six months now and I just upped my star rating to five stars from four. I actually love this little utilitarian trash can, and the car wash guys love it too. Simplicity and excellent functionality all in one package. Before I got this trash can I had a plastic grocery bag hanging off the gearshift, which was pretty tacky looking but fine in a 12 year old car. Now that I got a newer car, I wanted to class it up a little bit. The capacity is not bad considering how narrow the can is. I find that I don't need to empty it any more often than I have my car washed, which is pretty good since I practically live in my car. I've asked my passengers if it impinges on their leg and foot space and they have all said not at all. I slipped the box of 50 refill trash bags into the bottom of the can. It keeps the can sides open even when it is empty, and you don't have to worry about where to store the extra bags. For a garbage can, the design seems very well thought out. It would have been nice to have had a couple of Velcro tabs to install it with instead of just the hanger strap, but the strap works for me after I installed a 3M Command Hooks knob on the car's console to hang the strap from. Well built product and is collapsible, however this feature is somewhat of a challenge as you must place something rigid inside the bag to keep it from collapsing on itself when in use. The cardboard box of bags this product comes with fits perfectly in the bottom, however the box is made of flimsy cardboard and may not hold up for very long. My solution was to cut two 6" pieces of 3/8th inch dowel rod and place them in the bottom on the ends. I LOVE this trashcan! It's what I've been looking for. I know people say they won't eat in their car and maybe they don't. But you still need something for paper trash, especially now with disposible masks. Plus receipts, gum wrappers, etc. I've had the one on the window or door, but that one never stayed put. I bought the round one for the floor, it always got knocked over if someone got in the car or if you made sharp turn. I even had the one with that goes over the hump with the teeth, but it never stayed. This one stays put because it's attached by a strap that buckles in your console. And I like that there are bags with it. The bags are at the bottom, so once it's full you just tie it up and get another bag. The only thing I have to look for are the extra boxes of bags I bought. But I've had my first one of these 2 years and I'm still on my first box. The best feedback I got was from my brother. He was using my car for a little while until his car was ready. When he got his car, he asked me where I got the trashcan. He didn't realize how much he would miss until he didn't have it. ... show more

Best performing and best looking waste basket for most vehicles..the twin push-down top conceals both the bag beneath and ( of course) the garbage contained within. Far better than a bag hanging off the head rest and getting ( literally) in the face of the passenger in the back. The built in bags is genious ! I've seen reviewers talk about the fact that the box provides the structural rigity of the bag ....ummm, ya so??? Sometime down the road I will have to either get some more bags or just use the ones ya get at the store or figure something else out ... its not rocket science. I'll have to see long term how stable it is on the floor between the back seats. Theres a strap and if I dont like that I'll figure out sonething with a couple hunks of velcro. If you don't have anyone riding shot gun regularly it's perfect. It'll keep it's shape. But my boys are big and this thing takes quite an amount of space. I guess I could have hung it behind a seat but it's needed more in the front. With that and my kids very long legs well, they're crushing it.
