I have had this trash can for about six months now and I just upped my star rating to five stars from four. I actually love this little utilitarian trash can, and the car wash guys love it too. Simplicity and excellent functionality all in one package. Before I got this trash can I had a plastic grocery bag hanging off the gearshift, which was pretty tacky looking but fine in a 12 year old car. Now that I got a newer car, I wanted to class it up a little bit. The capacity is not bad considering how narrow the can is. I find that I don't need to empty it any more often than I have my car washed, which is pretty good since I practically live in my car. I've asked my passengers if it impinges on their leg and foot space and they have all said not at all. I slipped the box of 50 refill trash bags into the bottom of the can. It keeps the can sides open even when it is empty, and you don't have to worry about where to store the extra bags. For a garbage can, the design seems very well thought out. It would have been nice to have had a couple of Velcro tabs to install it with instead of just the hanger strap, but the strap works for me after I installed a 3M Command Hooks knob on the car's console to hang the strap from. I don’t have a stick shift, so I stuck a command hook on the inside of my center console and looped it around that. Since the strap is adjustable, it was easy to shorten it to the right length and now works perfectly. There’s no more waiting for the right time to take out the trash or hoping I remember to bring a new bag in the next time I drive. I tie up the bag while waiting in a drive through line or just before going inside. The next bag is right there in the bottom. No fuss. This trash bin has really come in handy in my car. I used to put the trash behind my seat and almost every time I'd forget about it and someone would need to get in the back and there my trash would be. How embarrassing! I don't have to worry about that anymore. And it holds quite a bit of trash. I put bin in the back between the two seats and it fits very nicely. My Mother-in-law liked it so much she had me order one for her. It's nice to always have a trash bag at your fingertips as well since they fit down in the bottom of the bin and pop up like tissues. I LOVE this trashcan! It's what I've been looking for. I know people say they won't eat in their car and maybe they don't. But you still need something for paper trash, especially now with disposible masks. Plus receipts, gum wrappers, etc. I've had the one on the window or door, but that one never stayed put. I bought the round one for the floor, it always got knocked over if someone got in the car or if you made sharp turn. I even had the one with that goes over the hump with the teeth, but it never stayed. This one stays put because it's attached by a strap that buckles in your console. And I like that there are bags with it. The bags are at the bottom, so once it's full you just tie it up and get another bag. The only thing I have to look for are the extra boxes of bags I bought. But I've had my first one of these 2 years and I'm still on my first box. The best feedback I got was from my brother. He was using my car for a little while until his car was ready. When he got his car, he asked me where I got the trashcan. He didn't realize how much he would miss until he didn't have it. ... show more

Excuse my un-vaccumed floor. It's cold outside lol. I love this can! I have a crv with a center gear shift, but it's elevated. I pondered getting this can because of that. I can tell you that the can works perfectly in my car. It's sturdy and holds a lot. Girls that have sat there did not complain about it interfering with their space. But a guy that sat there fussed about it being in his way. The can folds down, but it has a box of bags that come with it. That box is designed to perfectly support the can in an open position. Without that box, it would be floppy. So you have to keep the box of bags, and when you run out, buy more of those. I found extra bags on Amazon for it. I love this can. The lid is open so I can toss stuff in while driving and not miss. It's easy to change the bag. It looks great. I highly recommend this!! ... show more
