    • Does the job so far!
Intend the find the easier something goes together, the more poorly made an item is. This wasn’t easy to put together, but it is simple in its design. Everything fits together very well, but you need to be careful when assembling. This ensures there’s no gaps anywhere, which I really appreciated. I like the sliding metal plates to screw down the pieces. It’s much more heavy duty than the window adapter that came with my unit. The additional 3m weather stripping that came with was super easy apply and adheres quickly. I had some trouble getting the exhaust hose into the port. I suppose I should have put it in the insert port before putting the port into the panel. Overall, it’s doing what I need it to do, which is let me kick the hot exhaust outside rather than into my garage through a dog door, which is what I was doing before haha. It also allows me to have my portable unit in my living room where it’s most effective. If anything changes, I’ll update my feedback. ... show more

    • Way less gaps than the original
The original Honeywell portable AC vent was pretty uneven where I had to use painters tape to try to close the gaps. The hole where the hose is attached to was also very narrow that in a window where you had to slide part of it into the window slits in order for the whole window kit to stay up and to reduce any gaps of air coming from outside, there would be no room for the hose to attach to the board. This one gives you plenty of room to slide the window kit board through both sides of the window slits. The weather strips that came with the kit was useful as well. Some of the adhesive wasn’t very sticky but if you put the strips on right and they stay up, I actually felt less air coming in and out. This means even if I didn’t have my portable AC installed, my room was less hot and less cold. ... show more

I like the sturdiness of the plastic and the nice tightener that is a higher quality than what came with the DeLonghi unit. It was fast to put together for my bedroom window and I put some foam around it to seal it up good as well as wood dowels to keep the window solidly down on the top of the vent unit. This is a much better quality and huge upgrade to what came with my unit. I am very happy with it and would buy it again if need be, however I feel this will last several years. It works great, but the installation instructions are lacking. I went to the product on Amazon to find the installation video listed on the instruction pamphlet, but it did not state how to install the seals, so I just guessed. Otherwise, the product is sturdy.

    • Quite flimsy and not standard 5.1
Size: 5.1 Inch Door
The material (plastic) is thinner than i expected and quite flimsy (moves a lot) when extended to fit tall slider. Worse, the output coupler is not standard 5.1. It’s taller and more narrow. I had to rig it to work with the window setup my system came with. Thank god for duct tape.

very easy to put together and fir into my sliding door, full seal easy to manage. Luckily my hose was the perfect fit for it but check to make sure you get the right kit for your hose size. amazing how much better the ac works with a properly sealed window
