  • Great addition to our yard
This is a great fire pit, and we've gotten a lot of use out of it. Before we used it, based on other reviews I read here, I got 2 cans of high heat spray paint from the local bigbox store ($7.98 apiece) and gave the whole thing a couple of coats. The biggest disappointment is the super chintzy handle that they have designed for the lid. It is absurdly tiny and thin, and held on by the tiniest little screw and nut, which constantly needs to be tightened. You cannot lift the lid without the handle spinning and feeling unstable. It's not a huge deal though, since we just need to put on and take off the cover before/after a fire. Recommended accessory would be one of the canvas covers designed for a 36" diameter. We ordered one of those to keep the weather off when not in use. ... show more

  • Assemble before Tightening
The quality of this product isn’t worth the money, honestly reminds me of something to expect from the dollar store. It is definitely big with enough room for plenty of wood. The poker was damaged slightly so clearly the material is inexpensive. There were no directions included so you have to guess but it’s easy to figure out. My best advice is to install the air flow grates on the bottom of the pit first, two per grate. Then assemble the four legs but leave the screws very loose to assemble the ring. The ring won’t match up perfectly so you’ll have to adjust. When I say perfectly, the hole wouldn’t line up at all for the screw so it was a little bit of a game to get them lined up. Once the ring is installed, tighten everything down. Add the bolts for the grate& spark screen, handle on the spark screen with the one nut included and you’re done. ... show more

  • Difficult Assembly but Does the Job
Purchased for the depth, which is good. Holds a lot. I don't like that the flames are partially obscured though (hadn't thought of that beforehand). More black than 'bronze'. Written instructions received, but we were unable to line up the outer ring (what they say is a handle for moving the firepit easier). We bent the soldered-on tabs to the correct angle, but were never able to get the ring to line up with the holes under the legs, even after beating the ring with a mini-sledge hammer to try to achieve the correct shape. Gave up and left the ring off. Screen does nothing to keep embers from flying up; not sure what that is for. ... show more

  • Well Worth the Money
This is a very substantial fire-bowl. It is well-designed with the user in mind. It was fairly easy to assemble, though it took a bit of finagling to get the protective ring installed properly. I can't comment on durability since I just put it together, but it seems far better than the bowls I've had before. ... show more

  • I like the design concept of this thing
I like the design concept of this thing. I wanted one with grill possibilities. I like the deep bowl style. I wanted the outer ring for resting feet on. Problem is this thing is pretty shoddy. The included wrench is so flimsy it bends and becomes misshapen with use. I'm not talking about cranking not he thing. I'm talking very moderate/normal turning of bolts. When it's together, it's fine. It doesn't feel that sturdy. The Worst: the last step is to screw in these pegs around the rim to hold the lid on and support the grill grate. They screw into these nuts that have been welded to the inner edge. Only 3 of the 4 nuts on my firepit had threads! The fourth was totally smooth. Needless to say, screwing in the final peg was impossible. I guess I'm going to go find some JB weld or something and a peg at the hardware store that will fit in the hole and do the job? ... show more

  • Looks nice and does the job
This is my second one. I like the first one so much I replaced it with the same item. I got 4 or 5 summers out of the last one and we burn a lot. I would say about 2 face cord a year. I imagine you could get 10 years outta it if you use it less and cover when not in use.

  • Great Firepit!
This is a great firepit! It's plenty big enough for a large fire if desired. We keep a load of wood in it with a cover on top to keep it dry. The cut-outs let a lot of heat to pass through, and the ring stays cool enough to touch. it's good quality. Looking forward to using the rack to cook something on! ... show more

  • Very happy with it.
Definitely sturdy. Warmth kind of depends on the fire and the distance from it, however it will accomodate a good sized fire. Thickness of material is good. Do put a layer of sand in the bottom because it gets really hot during use
