I found the catio to be just what I was looking for. It is of good enough quality for California. I think the roof might not hold up overtime. The cats love it, I added a tablet so they can watch cat tv shows on YouTube.

I get SO MANY compliments on this - it's EXACTLY what I wanted and fit perfectly on my covered front porch. Easy to assemble, instructions are straight forward, turned out perfect. Added a shelf and hammock and connected to window with a cat door. Love it!

The overall quality was good. Went together pretty easy. I just wish it had a floor. Sitting on the ground it can rot from the weather. also cats tend to think of the ground as a big litter box :)

Came on time, all in good order but no instructions whatsoever. It went downhill from there... We ordered it to attach to our RV storage hatch so the cats could go in and out to the litterbox and into the RV through another cat door under the wardrobe. This is built out of 1/2" by 1-1/2" cedar and the top is made from three pieces of 1/4" luan board of the type that old timey paneling is made of, covered with a kind of "shingle" in the form of a sheet like tarpaper. The first rain, water pooled on the top and it is collapsing in the middle. Tops will have to be replaced immediately. Cheap cheap cheap and super light duty aluminum mesh. Make certain that you restaple that mesh to the wood or your cat will escape. The shelves are about 5" too narrow from the wall for a full grown cat to lay down on. Will have to build extensions for the shelves. I'm kicking myself for buying this, because I will have to basically rebuild or fix everything that it came with. Also, it will tip over easily, we anchored ours with two pound in the ground metal fence posts. I did the math on the materials to build this and it would be right at $73 even at today's prices plus about three hours build time. It took two of us four hours to build it with no instructions while trying to match up predrilled holes. Finally gave up on that and put it together in a way to increase structural integrity none of the holes matched then. If you are a DIYer like myself and the hubby, don't buy this, build it yourself and save a couple hundred bucks. ... show more

This is a really nice little condo for our cat. It arrived extremely quick and was easy to assemble just time consuming due to so many screws. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a safe outdoor space for their cats.

Bought this to make a catio for my tiny home so the kitties have more room to roam! It was impressively easy to put together! It took me (with minimal assistance from my boyfriend) about and hour and a half to assemble and move it. It was an instant hit with the cats! It is not the sturdiest once built; be careful when you move it because if you pull too hard or push in on the side too much you might break the screws that hold the panels together. This was a very small issue for me, as it only really is a concern when moving the piece and only then so much because the roof is very heavy and sturdy, which makes the whole assembly heavier to move. But I plan to reinforce the corners with some L brackets from Lowes, which are inexpensive and will do a lot toward making it super solid. I have had no troubles with it so far and it's been installed for about a month. What I also think is a huge pro here is that it will be super easy to disassemble when I eventually move, and easy to reassemble later (even without directions!). In order to make it sit flush with my tiny home outside wall I scooted the roof panels over about an inch so there was no overhang on that side. This meant I had to leave out the dowels that are meant to add extra stability and alignment to the roof panels but honestly, with so many screws, they're not going anywhere anyway. Another thing I changed was that I added sturdier, padlock friendly latches in addition to the ones they provided (see pics). I wanted to add a bit more security so people couldn't mess with my cats and also because I was paranoid the neighborhood kids might open the door and forget to close it properly. The media could not be loaded. *****UPDATE**** We liked this so much we purchased another one. After installing the pet window, we put the new one right next to the first and removed the wire screens. Now the cats have twice as much room to watch the wildlife that comes into our backyard. One of the best things about this catio is how much it lends itself to customization. I plan on placing this against a window, snipping the wire mesh, and putting a pet door in my window screen so my cats can go in and out at will. It comes with two door latches, so the door is very secure. But it's also a great product right out of the box! You can customize, but you don't have to. The wood is sturdy and the wire mesh is strong enough to prevent cats from getting out. The shelves are solid and supported by thick bolts. Note on instructions: on the side pieces, my instructions said frame 14 went with frame 10 and frame 9 with frame 13 (even with even and odd with odd). That was incorrect. 10 went with 13 and 9 with 14. Not a huge deal, just be sure everything makes sense when looking and the screw holes. That's what tipped me off. Assembly will take some time and probably make your quads sore, but it's mostly screwing in nails and bolts. One person can put the frames together easily enough, but you'll want two people when you join the frames together because they need to be standing up.
