We love ours. You need to purchase hardware separately. We didn’t and just used bungee cords . Not as pretty, but they worked. It keeps most of the rain off you, but it does need to be installed at an angle so it doesn’t hold water. Great buy and good price.

Bought this as a privacy screen for our backyard to divide our yard and give privacy for our hot tub use. I have it mounted at a 45 degree angle. The sail is made of a good and tough material that is water proof, and has handled 3 wind storms this year so far. I recommend using good quality hardware to install it, as getting the appropriate amount of tension to pull this thing taught requires a bit of force and pulling. It’s a very nice fabric. It’s very durable. But it’s really a glorified tarp and NOT a sun shade. The primary difference being that it’s entirely impervious to water flow which makes it entirely unsuitable for storms (unless you have some very specific and uneven Mount points). I did the very best that I could to install it at a sufficient enough slope to allow water to run off. I even shimmied a good 25’ up my pecan tree to create an anchor point. You can see in my photo that it didn’t matter. It still filled entirely with water in a storm eventually snapping the cables and crashing down. It’s a really nice tarp, but probably not what you are meaning to search for based on it’s title. ... show more

So I was a bit skeptical about this being "waterproof"; but lo and behold, I was able to sit underneath it during a pretty bad storm and there was no water leakage. In fact, we had to unhook to get the water off the top of it (it did pool, even though we installed it at a 45 degree angle.) I bought this to cover most of my deck. Does ok. Product is very durable. It just doesn’t appear to be the right solution for what I need. I do not have the set up to get the angles correct for water to run off. 6’ of drop and it still pools up on the shade. Patio Paradise was very accommodating during my process. Ropes fray badly and quickly when cut. Can be melted, but retain heat a longish time so burn fingers. Cloth does not allow water transfer through it so water will collect and pool when it rains unless cloth is tilted fairly sharply.

I used the cover for additional shade on the patio. It is very nice and top quality with double stitching. My only suggestion is it should have another set of grommets for the longer side. We use the sail as awning for our vintage camper. We get it altered at a boat reupholster shop for very minimal fee. Owned last sail for 5 years before showing signs of wear. Cleans real easy. We have designed a system so it can become unclipped from 2 poles when rain or significant wind In forecast. It is water resistant so needs to be lowered or will result in damage to poles. ... show more
