Material and construction is very good. This a diy project and watching videos are supposed to help. Where the studs under my vynil siding are located ,I could not use this size so reordered. Took a bit of time for the refund to be accepted. Have not received new 1 yet to install.

I liked the sail, it was small. I have returned it and still waiting for refund. I did order another one but bigger which works great. I would just like my refund from the first one. So now I have another sail larger than the first I sent back. I have been unhappy with it because it holds rain water
and sags in the middle bad. Hard to take down and drain the water. It has tight tension but the rain has stretched it out more. I fill like I have wasted my money and no answers to help me through this. I would have been better with a umbrella.

The picture was after a very heavy rain. I was worried they wouldn't be waterproof, but they very much are waterproof. Make sure you hang them with plenty of slope or this is how they will end up. This was with 20" of slope over a 12' span. I thought it was enough and I was wrong. It drained when I t
ested it, but during a heavy rain it collects too fast and weighs down the middle. I would recommend alternating the slope in 2 directions instead of just 1. Overall they are good quality and clearly durable. They were holding 20-30 gallons of water and didn't tear.

Good quality, but water will pool

Overall, we love this waterproof sail. Keeping it taut during a rain storm is difficult and water pools on the sail. It would be nice if the sail had wire that could be used to keep it taut.

I bought this shade 'sail' to replace a previously installed shade which was not waterproof. THAT shade had deeply curved sides and a non-stretch fabric. It could easily be installed drum tight, with essentially no sags. But, it was no protection from the rain. So I bought this waterproof shade. I re
located 2 of the mounting eye-bolts to provide what should have been a more than adequate slope and tightened everything up with 9" turnbuckles. As before, the shade was stretched as tight as I felt was safe. Then It rained. Even though sloped, the rain immediately stretched the fabric and began to cause a sag. Of course, with the sag, the slope was eliminated and the rain just kept sagging and stretching the fabric. Had to go out and use a floor mop to dump the water. Often. If this product had been made with a non-stretch or even minimal stretch fabric, the slope would have been adequate to prevent water accumulation. This product has all the rigidity of a sheet of rubber. A THIN sheet of rubber. Once the rain stops and the water has been dumped, the shade returns to the original, stretched flat shape. Mostly. I guess if you buy cheap, you get cheap.

Convenient to prevent UV light and rain water

Bought this as a privacy screen for our backyard to divide our yard and give privacy for our hot tub use. I have it mounted at a 45 degree angle. The sail is made of a good and tough material that is water proof, and has handled 3 wind storms this year so far. I recommend using good quality hardware
to install it, as getting the appropriate amount of tension to pull this thing taught requires a bit of force and pulling. It's a nice sail, you can't see through it, and water just runs right off of it at the angle we have it. It's already snowed on it, and the snow slid off it.

It’s a very nice tarp, not a sun shade

It’s a very nice fabric. It’s very durable. But it’s really a glorified tarp and NOT a sun shade. The primary difference being that it’s entirely impervious to water flow which makes it entirely unsuitable for storms (unless you have some very specific and uneven Mount points). I did the very best th
at I could to install it at a sufficient enough slope to allow water to run off. I even shimmied a good 25’ up my pecan tree to create an anchor point. You can see in my photo that it didn’t matter. It still filled entirely with water in a storm eventually snapping the cables and crashing down. It’s a really nice tarp, but probably not what you are meaning to search for based on it’s title.

We love ours. You need to purchase hardware separately. We didn’t and just used bungee cords . Not as pretty, but they worked. It keeps most of the rain off you, but it does need to be installed at an angle so it doesn’t hold water. Great buy and good price.
