I used this, erasable pens by pilot, a more expensive tailors chalk, and two types of fabric pencils on a light tan fabric while making a shirt. The Erasable pens didn't transfer well but came out without a hassle, the other chalk was too light to see, one of the pencils didn't agree with soft fabric and the other stained my button hole blue. Despite how easy these things are to accidentally wipe off or transfer to other fabric, and it's tendency to break or chip of you look at it wrong this is by far the best fabric tracing tool I've tried yet ... show more

These are great I’ve tested many kinds some brands you have to draw a line so hard to get it to show up BUT NOT THESE THEY ARE EASY TO USE and give clear markings they are easy to break so don’t hold them too rough or slam them down on your work station or drop them because it will break but I’m ok with that ... show more

This was a good value, offering a selection of colors in a storage case. While the marking texture is excellent, the pieces, which resemble large guitar picks, are thin and brittle. I remember sturdier pieces as a kid.

I have a tendency to be a little heavy-handed when using pens and pencils, so I have to be careful with these as they are quite thin. They feel a little fragile when I use them, but so far, no issues. I like that they are a good quality - they provide a nice line and erase easily enough if you make a mistake. Multiple colors are good for marking different lines on sewing projects, and wipes and washes out easily. Chalks are thin which is great for marking but will break if dropped. Case is not the best - if the chalks shift when pulling out different chalks, you won’t be able to close the case. Still fills the purpose of what chalk should do. ... show more

They’re thin. Thinner than I thought. So thin are they that I think I just cracked one with my mind whilst thinking of the word wafer. But that’s silly, it probably arrived precracked then broke when light hit it. Maybe my light bulbs aren’t soft enough for chalk this thin. I’m just sayin’, they are slight. Their thinness exceeds my expectations. But they do make fine lines if you can pick one up without compromising its structural integrity. I’m going to keep trying and give them a chance. Maybe they’re not as crumbly in a more humid climate. I don’t know but now they have me craving tea & sugar wafers. Toodles… ... show more

That being said, they will break if you are not gentle with them. They are somewhat difficult to remove in that they don't slide right in and out. They have mild friction against each other, which if you're in a hurry, not very patient, or clumsy, you can break the thin chalk. Container is compact, convenient, and attractive. Marking chalk is more fragile than I'm accustomed to and breaks into soft shards with little pressure. Moderately functional. Would not purchase again.
