Batteries quickly go bad if they are not properly charged consistently. This keeps my battery in my car at a full charge, yet it allows it to cycle with a slow charge during the day and no charge at night. Used as a battery tender for my car in storage. Works great if you leave the solar panel on the dash but it doesn't like being in the elements if you put it on the outside of the vehicle. Barely had it a year and it no longer charges. Completely dead. It worked great when it did work though.

Original Review: At first I really liked the panel, I have a Bluetooth adapter that reads battery voltage and I could see the charge go up if I sat there for a few seconds. I was checking voltage regularly (every 2 or 3 days) to make sure it was keeping my battery at the properly charged, which it was. So when I finally decided to trust this and not be checking it so often, it stops working. Now I have a dead battery and will have to pay to have it replaced. Not happy. Updated Review: Let me start by saying that the reason my battery drained was not this solar panel's fault. Turns out the Hands-Free Link module in my car had gone bad and was draining the battery even when the car was off. Once that was found to be the issue, thanks to a friend that has the same car I do and coincidentally started having the same battery drain issue too, he told me what was causing and how to get to it to unplug it to test if my HFL module was draining the battery. After the HFL module was unplugged I then though to take this solar panel out from storage and check, I had not used it since I labeled it as "bad" but never got to throw it away since I thought it did put out some power just not enough for my car. Well now I can say that my car can sit indefinitely, the battery will not die anymore and has not gone bellow 12.3 volts even after 3 weeks of the car not being used. ... show more

    • Stopped working after 8-9 months - drains my battery totally dead

Purchased this when I put a new battery in my truck that I only use occasionally 3-4 times a year so the battery would stay charged. It seemed to do fine for 8 months, then I went to use my truck and the battery was absolutely totally dead. After placing the battery on a NOCO charger for a day, it was charged fine. I used the truck for a couple of days and no issues. Plugged this solar charger back in and a week later the battery was too weak to start the truck. Charged it again with my NOCO charger for a day and the battery was good to go. Did not put the solar charger back on and two weeks later the battery was still charged great and starts the truck great. Plugged the solar charger back in and two days later the battery was almost too weak to start the truck. Charged again with the NOCO charger and did not put the solar charger back on the battery. Battery is still good without any charging since a month ago. Only conclusion is the solar charger now kills/drains the battery. Not good. ... show more

Picked up to keep the battery charged in a second vehicle that is rarely driven. Battery would be dead in a week or so. Plugged into power port, and set the panel on the dash, and after 3weeks, the engine turned over and started easily. Measured it at 18v at 1.5amps. Would buy again. Arrived on time. Eager to hook it up to my C5 corvette, I was disappointed to see there was no "connection". My trusty voltmeter detected no continuity in the + lead. Visual inspection did not detect the defective fuse. Replaced the fuse at my expense and with the wrong size for now. Uses a 5-amp 250 volt. I only had a 10-amp 250 volt. It now is showing that it is connected and charging. Yes, I will get the proper fuse Amazon at my expense. ... show more
