This is perfect for me in my garage. I have a work bench set up, and I mounted this just above it. This kind of heater is great because it heats me up right where I'm sitting well without actually needing to heat the entire garage. It does to a degree heat the entire garage but not as well as sitting in front of it. The remote works great, and it makes basically no sound at all. Got this to heat my basement gym which is completely unfinished and gets quite cold. This is doing an excellent job so far and I've been thoroughly impressed with it. I love the remote too so I can turn it on from upstairs and walk down to an already heated basement.     • Great Radiant Heater/ Think "Sunlight" As It Has No Fan
If you aren't familiar with this type of heater you should know this isn't fan forced, it heats "line of sight". These warm objects, including people, in an area rather than trying to heat a whole room. This type of radiant heat used to be quite common in homes. I remember growing up having an overhead heater and how I loved that it heated the ceramic tile floor and when you got out of the bath or shower hold you felt that heat immediately. Toasty. A local bar has heaters similar to these on their narrow patio and they are very popular. I'll gladly take credit for suggesting them. They've been much better than the propane tower patio heaters they used to have which don't last long on a tank and, especially in a bar setting, can be dangerous. I haven't mounted this yet as I haven't decided for sure where I'll put it. Definitely in my shop. I have two areas I use quite often with work benches but I'm also considering it over an area under my shop where I park the car in the colder months. I did inspect the installation instructions and hardware and it is really simple with good instructions and easy to use hardware. I tested it on a shelf just making sure to frequently check the surrounding area. On high it provided some great heat 10 feet away and the cord only got warm, not hot. It has a remote that I haven't yet used but it would be great when using overhead out of reach. Initially I gave this 5 stars but decided to back up to 4 due to how hard it is to see the controls on the side. They are touch type and should stand out rather than needing the right angle of light to see. Great product. Great value. ... show more

This got mounted in the garage on the wall in spite of the current description saying it's a "tower" heater. It mounts horizontally and not vertically. It appears to be well made and comes with a remote control. Pretty light and the fan speed is even adjustable. Nice feature. I like that power settings are adjustable as well as the temperature. I have always prefered radiant (infrrared) heat over hot air. Hot air heaters are sort of useless outdoors and if one of your garage doors are open you may as well be outdoors. I see this as a prety good deal for a heater that will be getting as lot of use this winter. Glad I got it. ... show more

Easy to place and install. The unit provides enough heat for comfortable outdoor seating in the fall. Not sur how it will fo in an Ohio winter though. It heats quickly and so far does not overheat. The unot is sturdily built with good material.
