Very straightforward purchase. I wanted to focus propane heat on me during the cold days outside and this does exactly that. Some reviewers said it didn’t fit their propane tank but in the book, it tells you to screw it in counter clockwise. Voila! Interestingly, one of my propane tanks takes it counterclockwise and another takes it clockwise. Go figure. Nonetheless it does what it’s supposed to. I purchased two of these propane tank top heaters, and one worked fine, but the other heater would shut off immediately, after releasing the ignition switch. They had me send a video of what it was doing, and they replaced it immediately! I appreciate their prompt response to my issue.

    • Flimsy attachment to the tank

I just mounted it on the propane tank and found three mechanical deficiencies. 1. The plastic knob used to tighten the gas connection is very loose and makes it hard to align the threads. 2. The wing nut to secure the brace to the heater assembly is so small that it is difficult to tighten it enough to stabilize the heater in a upright position and when it is loose enough to insert the brace it is close to falling out. It also seems to be a sloppy fit, which may make it prone to loosening. 3. The brace is held in position by the aforementioned screw and by no other means. This makes it very unreliable and the heater can lean to one side or the other loosing the attachment and potentially causing a gas leak when the burner is heating. The basic burner looks like it is fine and seems to appear in other heaters, but I do not know if it is any better designed than the attachment. I'll try fabricate a better bracing system, but if you are not mechanically inclined with a well equipped workshop. I would look elsewhere. ... show more
