  • Saves us $80 - $100 from yet another subscription of Pest Control
Size: 1 gal Style: Refill
I've attached a photo for anyone dealing with bug infestations who might be spraying directly on the pests, expecting instant results. Unlike wasp spray or other instant-kill products, this spray works differently. As shown in the image, it's meant to be applied to areas where bugs will travel. When they come into contact with the chemicals, they will die over time—NOT IMMEDIATELY. Please take a moment to read the label and understand how it works! This product works well for killing bugs. I usually find dead spiders in corners or dark areas where they tend to hide. I apply the spray near those spots, and it’s been effective. I had an issue with millipedes, and while it doesn’t work as quickly on them as it does on spiders, it still gets the job done over time. Overall, I’m pleased with the performance of this product. ... show more

  • Either this is working really well or its been a slow year for fire ants.
Size: 1 gal Style: Refill
I live in an area where fire ants are a huge problem. This year I tried pouring, not spraying this product to the first mounts last spring. Either this killed the queen of the mounds preventing more from springing up or there has been an exceptionally low amount of fire ants this year.

  • It is *not* immediately effective, but it does kill spiders.
Size: 1 gal Style: Refill
So, if you're an arachnophobic Californian like me, you're probably aware that the best spider killers are now illegal - at least, they are in California. So we have Terro that comes in an inefficient aerosol, and we have Raid that got rid of its HIGHLY effective "Bug Barrier" line and is much costlier if you go with the sprays actually meant to kill spiders. So I tried Ortho out tonight. It does work, but BEWARE if you're spraying an entire spider community. It takes multiple minutes for it to take effect. Fun times. It also does not prevent spiders from coming back. New spiderwebs were present the next night. ... show more

  • Spray can worthless, but jug w/ comfort wand was effective
Size: 14 Ounce (Pack of 1) Style: Aerosol
I purchased both a spray can and a jug with comfort wand at same time. I have a lot of spiders in my basement, and I thought I'd use the can to spray the staircase to basement and some of the basement rafters. I'd have been happy if the can killed the spiders in the stairwell, and kept them from coming back to stairs. I am constantly vacuuming up spiders that inhabit my stairs to basement. So I started spraying from a few inches away a common house spider right after opening door to stairs to basement. Nothing. I drenched the spider, it didnt even seem bothered, sprayed it more till it finally slid down the wall. Did it die? No. Walks off as normal, soak it more now on floor... still not dying. So I vacuum up all the webs and spiders on stairs to basement, then coated the walls, ceiling, railing and stairs heading to basement. Check back 24hrs later, spiders are inhabiting the stairwell that I thoroughly sprayed. Spiders-1 Ortho-Max-Spray-0 I have a lot of carpenter ants in wall near kitchen window, and after addition now-unused old chimney also close to kitchen window. The kitchen window has a screen, but I hadn't been able to open it without getting carpenter ants coming in through the window, especially if it rained. After thoroughly spraying the kitchen window screen, sill, frame, and around the window (inside&out) with the comfort wand it actually repels the ants. I leave the window open and in the 2 months since I applied it, I haven't seen any ants come in, nor any ants even near the window. Max w/ Comfort Wand-1 Ants-0 In previous years stink beetles have driven me nuts. They'd get into the house no matter what I did. When I applied this with comfort wand, I sprayed every window sill, every window frame, a box around every window, window screens, every door frame (that leads to outside of house), covered wall areas of front porch, and all the rafters in my basement. In the 2months since applying this, I've had no stink beetles in the house, and haven't seen any even hanging out on window screens. Max w/ Comfort Wand-1 Stink Beetles-0 I still have a lot of spiders in my basement. It might reduce the amount of new spider webs in basement rafters slightly, but they are still there, and they still find there way to the stairwell heading upstairs from basement. Spiders-1 Max w/ comfort wand-0 (Maybe 3/4to1/4, but spiders certainly have the upper hand.) I didn't specifically spray to control lady bugs. However, I haven't seen lady bugs on the house since I sprayed either. Max w/ Comfort wand-1 lady bugs-0 ... show more
