  • Terro T800 — kills the beasts so you can keep your sanity!
Style: 1 Pack
We just moved into a recently renovated/flipped home. Everything was brand new and the home was clean, clean, clean! But, we had this horrible problem — flies! We couldn’t open the garage door or take out the trash or even come in the front door without flies getting in. Considering how diseased these critters are, I didn’t want them in my home. At one point I had killed 10 in a single day.. in my home! Enough was enough! We had purchased one of those rectangular zappers you see, rebranded a thousand times, for $40 on amazon and they do work great (although loud and a bit scary to handle.) Even though it was killing our active flies, the problem still persisted. My friend told me to wash out the trash can outside (the likely source of these flies) with bleach and soap water after the trash had been taken. So I did. I bleached and watched all those larvae go toodles into the soapy and bleach abyss. I thought that would be it. But, nope! Two days later, I’m taking out the trash and lift up my trash can and am met with a swarm of no less than 30 flies. 30!! Where did they come from in two days?! So, I turned to Amazon once again. I saw that Terro had a garbage guard for $7 that had decent reviews. So I figured it wouldn’t hurt. I risked it and purchased the Terro T800. It arrived the next day. When I got it, it didn’t smell like anything. It’s super tiny. I thought in NO WAY would this thing do anything. But I stuck it anyway to the garbage kid, and like another reviewer suggested, I put it by the hinge to help prevent it from being knocked out by trash. Then, I close the lid reluctantly. I was pretty sure this tiny, non electrical, non-smelly thing wasn’t going to do SQUAT. Like all the vitamin reviews on Amazon, I was pretty sure any review was made up. But, I left it alone. I came back two days later to take out more trash and was preparing my fateful demise involving 30 more flies. My hand went up to my face. I made sure to close my mouth — you know, just in case. One fly. One came out. WHAT? I look into the trash can which has been previously alive with maggots and saw none. NONE. And what I saw were a bunch of dead fly bodies. Those horrible vermin were gone. This must have what it felt like to be Dexter.. I have officially wiped out the enemy with punishable death. Two days later I return and just a moth comes out and the flies are still dead. It’s been a week and I have not had to kill a single fly in my house. It’s been a week and I have not had to suffer the annoying sound of the bzzzz behind my head as I read a book and then turn around with anger, “Where are you!” I no longer have the guts of flies smashed on my palms as I smash them against the window in my vain quest to rid them from my house. To think, months of suffering with flies and all I had to do was get this Terro Garbage Guard. It is $7 with prime and will be the best investment for you! I cannot recommend it’s enough. Thank you, Terro, for giving me my sanity back. ... show more

  • I'll repeat
Style: 1 Pack
After I put this inside of my garbage can's lid, the unbearable terrible odor is just gone. I don't know if it was this that has done this job but I don't have to be grossed out any more every time I open the can. I still have to see how it will be like in the warmer months though. • Works
Style: 1 Pack
I didn't think anything would help our flies and maggots problem, but this did! We kept having less and less until we had none. Tool about 3 rounds, but very much so worth it. I problem was bad, and this worked.

  • It works!!
Style: 1 Pack
This product works amazing against flies and maggots in the garbage bin. It sticks great to the lid, it does take a few days to start working, but once it does bye bye bugs!!!

  • Very Effective
Style: 1 Pack
Had a big problem with flies and maggots in my garage trash can--to the point where I came home to a garage full of flies. Not anymore. After stringing this to the trash can handle and dropping it a couple of inches into the can, not only were there no maggots in the can, the flies in the garage were trying desperately to get out. Very happy about that. But, though the description says "unscented," it does have a strong smell that gradually fades over time. Doesn't bother me since I don't spend much time in the garage. If you do, it might bother you. ... show more

  • It will fall off into rash bin, so super duper glue it on the lid!
Style: 1 Pack
This is awesome, only one rub, if not careful it will fall into your trash bin & take $10 of your hard earned dollars with it. There might be a better alternative maybe a spray or here’s a genus idea a sticker. Like an auto plate tag, you just put the new 3-month sticker over the last one.

  • Didn't work for me-at all
Style: 1 Pack
I hate to be that guy and normally would just take my lumps and move on with my life, but I wanted these to work so badly. I work out of my garage and my garbage cans are in the back portion of my property adjacent to my garage. The fly problem has gotten so bad in the heat that I can only work from my garage in the morning hours. The flies get so active after noon that it's unbearable to work from my garage and I don't have a setup to work from inside so I end up setting my laptop on my bed and working from a chair next to my bed. ANYWAY, I wanted these things to work SO BADLY and almost every review I read of them was positive that they flies went away and the ONLY negative reviews I read were because the things didn't stick well to the garbage cans. Well, all I can say is the other people must have had pretty minor fly problems. I installed 7 of these things (one for each garbage can) and gave them a week to take hold and if I walk over to my garbage cans right now and open one of them there are so many flies you can barely keep your eyes open as they all swarm out of the can upon opening. It's disgusting and hideous and now that these have failed I have no hope except to wait until they cool off. Oh and maybe buy a couple more of the can type fly traps that you set next to the garbage and hope that knocks down their numbers. These things, sadly, did not work for me at all. I can't believe other people installed them and the flies went away. They didn't even seem to put a dent in the number of flies in my cans. Super bummed about the whole thing (not the least of which is the $60 I spent on them). ... show more
