Reclaim your lawn from fire ants with Ortho® Fire Ant Killer Mound Treatment1. This insect control product kills mounds in 15 minutes. In addition, it kills both the mound and the queen, and keeps new mounds from forming. Use this pest control product on residential lawns, ornamental plants and flower gardens. To treat mounds, apply 2/3 cup of product over each fire ant mound and the surrounding 3-foot diameter. After application, drench the mounds with 2 gallons of water. Do not water to the point of run-off, and do not make applications in the rain. For best results, apply in cool weather (65°F to 80°F) or in the morning or late evening hours when ants are most active. Do not apply this product to vegetables. Do not allow people and pets to re-enter treated area until granules have been watered in and area has dried. Our apartment got infested when a neighbor in another apartment moved out. We tried the advion cockroach that's really popular and for awhile it seemed to work until we noticed some were just evolving. This powder took them out! It smells horrible! I can guarantee you that, open all the windows, wear a mask... however you won't see not one roach after giving this a try. 2 months ago wedeepcleaning under all appliances, sprinkled this there and everywhere in our apartment even under the couch. This product works great but STINKS! It smells like someone farted on my lawn. I'd leave too if I was an ant. We had 3 hills located in different areas on the front lawn and for about a week it smelled like someone crop dusted my yard. The ants are gone though.
