Edit: TL;DR - first chiller was a dud, got a replacement quickly and it works. Updated from 1 to 4 stars. Reached out to seller and requested a replacement. An RMA was processed and I was sent a shipping label within 24 hours. Stayed in contact with seller and responded with the receipt once chiller was sent back. Seller sent a replacement before receiving original, so that was very much appreciated. Set the new chiller up, configured it, and got it filled to test it out. Went from about 28°C (ambient) and stayed between 17‐18°C (configured), so everything looks good. -------------------------------------------------------- The chiller was received today and did nothing but heat up. Factory reset and configured using multiple known-good configurations from others that have OMTech lasers and wasn't able to cool at all. Was told by OMTech Direct (seller) that "fluorine is low. Fill accordingly". The CW-5200 does not have a provisioned port to "fill", so that's completely useless advice. When I bought this brand new, I expected everything to be working and topped off accordingly. I'm looking to see if they will replace it or if I need to put in a warranty claim. Seriously not happy with this purchase. If you're on the fence, look elsewhere. Depending on how things turn out, I'll update the rating if it pans out. ... show more

    • Works well but had some issues.
This chiller works well. It helps keep my laser cutter cool and does it job well. However, I had issues with the water hoses staying on, they would be push all the way onto the connector, but would still pop out spilling water everywhere. Was an easy fix after buying some hose clamps to keep them in place, but was not fun the first few times it did it. Also the instructions are horrible and not really clear on some points like access some settings. I recommend ditching the manual and looking up YouTube. Overall still a good product, even with some of the issues I had. ... show more

Well my unit would not chill out of the box.I expected it was something I was doing wrong but... after some trouble shooting and talking with OMtech customer service it was determined that the unit had a Freon leak at some point and we are working to get the bad unit replaced. OMtech has been nothing but understanding and helpful in resolving this issue. ... show more

We bought this chiller with our OMTech 70W laser and it's been a workhorse. We have our laser out in a workshop that is temperature controlled, but where the AC struggles sometimes in the summer, and our summers are miserably hot and humid. This thing hasn't failed us yet in the almost 8 months of use. Unlike the 3000 series, it actually chills the water so the water going into the laser tube is actually cool and not simply recycled through a radiant cooling system. We haven't had a single alarm go off with it yet. No leaks, no problems, nothing. We got a second to accompany our new laser, as well. ... show more

    • Great unit, poor instructions. YouTube rescue.
This little unit is pretty amazing, once I figured out how to use it. I distill large quantities of lavender, and the condenser takes a lot of cooling water to extract the oil from the flowers. I had calculated a need of around 10,000btu pet hour based on the amount of ice I normally use to cool the condensing water. This little 5,000+ unit does the job by itself. No more ice bath! The downside, the instructions are poor for a first time user. Luckily, there are YouTube videos that show how to set the unit up. Once you view the video, the instructions short of make sense. I recommend this unit for any application where a moderate amount of cooling water is required. ... show more
