Although I am very much enjoying the bike 5 months, in the criticisms of the bike are valid. It’s not cheap, and after a hefty purchase you have another expensive subscription that you have to pay for, otherwise the bike is sort of (?) useless. Other much cheaper options with more usability and portability. I don’t have experience with too many other stationary bikes, especially at this level but the bike feels solid and well put together. For me, it could look great in any room which is a plus, the setup is relatively easy and for my particular preference this was the perfect bike. I tried cheaper options like the wahoos, iOS apps, zwift, and if you’re already a hardcore cyclist or are looking to be one…I don’t think this bike is for you. Especially if you care about accuracy in terms of wattage, output, or already know your FTP. These are things that aren’t too accurate here. If you enjoy guided workouts with classes that are very motivating or like feeling like you’re working out in a group without the actual stress of being around people…I think this purchase is a no brainer. There’s a tremendous amount of courses, helpful trainers, statistics to keep track of, multi week programs to keep you motivated…I enjoy the bike and what it offers, even with all its downsides as in my cursory research there was nothing that did what the peloton did. Your mileage will vary. Always do your research and set your expectations accordingly or you’ll end up with a 1500 clothes hanger. ... show more

The bike is great, the classes are awesome. It definitely caught me by surprise how much I would love the bike. For me, it’s the Peloton subscription that puts it over the top!

    • Worthless without subscription
Style: Original Peloton Bike
Just know if you buy this bike its pretty worthless without the 50$ a month subscription cost. Otherwise you get only a black screen with a few stats so its very boring to ride. Does not come with pedal covers if you don't have bike shoes its difficult to ride or you have to buy shoes, or covers. Ended up selling it in less than a month. OS is completely locked so you cannot cast, watch videos or anything on it only black screen with basic stats. Ended up getting a Matrix Fitness ICR50 for less, you can connect a chrome cast, phone, HDMI anything into it to use while working out, also supports ZWIFT cycling game which is insanely fun and addicting and a million times better at 14$ a month VS 50 for some boring Peloton videos. There is a reason Peloton is failing as a company 50$ a month after a large investment for the bike is ridiculous. Save your money and get something else unless you wanna pay 600$ a year on top of the bike just to have basic features and boring videos... 5 stars for build quality, the bike is nice but its more locked down than apple products, gotta pay to play when you already bought an overpriced bike. ... show more
