This works fine with my Mac and I love it. Problem is, I bought it to work with my Windows 11 laptop and it doesn’t because Microsoft no longer offers CD/DVD-rom drivers with all versions of Windows 11 and you can’t tell whether yours does until you try to install and external drive. Their reasoning is “no one uses these anymore.” The real reason is cost. The trouble is, Origbelie doesn’t offer drivers either. So, buy this for a Windows 11 and you’re screwed. Or maybe not. I primarily wanted this to make backups of all the DVDs I still have laying around. It worked for the first couple but then just stopped. I had to go through all the troubleshooting steps multiple times every time I loaded a new disc. Reviews seem pretty ok for people using it for CDs so maybe it's just me. Update: After I wrote this review and initiated the return process, I decided to try one more time. I restarted my computer (again), plugged the drive into a different USB port (again - I'd been alternating between the ports available and they all worked inconsistently), and loaded a disc. Lo and behold! It worked. And it has been working well ever since. Maybe my computer just needs to be restarted 5 times before it counts? Maybe the company should add "threaten to return the device so it feels bad and stops throwing a tantrum" to its troubleshooting tips? Whatever made it happen, it is working well enough now. Not super fast, but it'll do the job. Unless it stops working again. We'll see. ... show more

The ORIGBELIE CD burner was very useful because it worked on a USB port. It worked on my Windows 10 machine and on my old Windows Xp machine using the same program. It did an excellent job burning both a CD and a DVD disk. I was surprised how elementary it was designed. Everything is basically done by hand - opening the drawer for example.
