I was looking for an external drive as the computers nowadays do not come with these drives as we are told this is how it is if you want one it will be an aftermarket option. it is something how we are told which is good for us and which is bad for us and you will now download everything so we can keep track of what you are using. Well I was looking for a good quality name brand drive which seems to be very hard now. I seen this one by ORIGBELIE, never heard of them before doing this search. This Drive had everything I was looking for and worked right out of the box, no gimmicks or no software needed. This Drive had a case and then a soft bag inside the case, was very well made and worked well. I put the CD of an older game into the Drive to load onto my laptop and everything went smoothly. I just wish the cable connection from the Drive to the Laptop was a little longer, as the way I have my Laptop the connection is on the right hand side because of space constraints and plugging the Drive in on the right hand side is a little tight, if it were just two inches longer it would be perfect. This portable DVD /CD Player only worked on 1 DVD but worked on my CD's. I bought Any DVD from Microsoft to see if that would help it did not. I had a computer repair person try to figure it out and he ended up saying that possibily this DVD / CD Player was defective. So, I returned it and ordered a cheaper one, we will see how that works. ... show more

I bought this in conjunction with a new mini-PC that I would be installing my first attempt at moving to Linux. I had concerns that I would have a lot of compatibility issues. I burned a DVD with Mint LMDE, connected this device to the USB C port on the Mini-PC. The device was recognized in the boot device menu, and performed flawlessly during my installation of LMDE. I have my UPS connected to It ant it appears to function well as a USB hub. I think the PC sees the UPS if I am interpreting the OS correctly. I think it is treating the UPS like a battery in a laptop. I have not used the SD card reader or the Mini-SD yet, but expect no issues. The device came packaged inside its sturdy case. The cable fits effectively and securely into the slot on the bottom. I’m very happy with the product, especially for the price. It just works. ... show more

I bought this DVD drive to watch movies on my laptop. While it worked, worked great, but soon it started skipping with the image freezing for just a moment and it kept doing it more and more. Eventually it stopped responding to my laptop at all, as well as other laptops I tried it on. Other reviews seem pretty positive and I like to think I got the bad unit of the lot. ... show more

    • Good overall, but...

- The DVD Drive had problems with one of my CDs. It has like a custom photo printed on paper and pasted on top of the CD, very thin but it made the Drive sound very weird, I left it do its thing but after some seconds an alarm started playing from the Drive? then spitted out the CD. Could not read that CD. - While copying a lot of photos from a CD, it stopped copying, and one of the new files got corrupted, only turning the PC off was able to remove it. This also messed up with the DVD Drive driver, and Windows could not use the device again. What I did to solve this: 1) unplug the DVD Drive from PC and from power 2) uninstall the DVD Drive from Window's Device Manager 3) connect the DVD Drive to the PC again If it wasn't for this 2 problems, I would rate the product excellent 5 stars. I imagine less techy people would not know how to handle problem N°2 and end up returning it. ... show more
