Its stable, heavy duty, and handy. some say the bowl isn't stable but my fit nice and tight so no complaint here on that. firing this grill up gives you enough heat to start cooking in half the time as charcoal. probably faster then half. Excellent design, I put in 4 screws, loaded it with dry grass, used one match, and it was off to the races. It burns extremely well due to the unique design. Honestly I was very impressed. I bought this mainly for a way to make hot water to feed my family in emergency situations. But it is so versatile I know I'll be using it all the time. And I like that it's safe, and easy to control the flames. The best bang for the buck I've seen in quite a while. I spent many hours reviewing and comparing all the similar models. Was thinking this would be a bit smaller. That's not a bad thing! This stove seems very well made and the grill and griddle attachments a good size. I like that there is a drip pan that clips onto the griddle. This was purchased in the event if a power outage and will be stored for now. Since it is fairly heavy and awkward to keep it in the box, I ordered a tote with wheels to move it around easily and for storing, for now. I just received it today and haven't used it, but really like that you can use a number of different sources (sticks, leaves, etc), and am sure it will be a handy little wood stove. Would be great for camping, too! ... show more

It weight fairly decent and is quite sturdy. I used wood coal with this set up, at first, you can smell fumes from paint being burn off. I suggest to Keep burning some wood/coal to burn off fumes from factory paint/coating. Once the chemical smells gone, it’ll be safe to cook on it. It works good, cook well, no complaint. This is exactly what I was looking for to get the kids involved with cooking. They collect the fuel while I prep the dinner. Very well built and versatile. Love the different setups for pots, grilling or flat griddle. I wish I had two, one for the road and one at the house.

With a small fire the Rocket Stove produces an easily controlled heat output using small limbs I normal just get rid of in a burn pile. I have often used charcoal with my 12" Dutch Oven, but this heats faster with easily gathered free wood. At a large group chili bake-off this Rocket Stove generated a lot of interest.
