This turned my weber kettle into a full fledged smoker. The temperature is easy to regulate. The ring will allow for up to 3 standard 22 inch Weber kettle grates to allow for even more cooking area. So you can smoke a lot of meat on the grill, or hang a lot of meat vertically with the hanging frame. The construction is sturdy enough and the ring sits cleanly on the kettle. I did have an issue with the hanging frame being warped (likely shipment damage) and not sitting cleanly on the top. I contacted the seller and they sent me out a replacement free of charge. I’ve never used this with my Weber kettle. Only on my 22 inch Weber Smokey Mountain. You have to invert it when using on the WSM. I like the distance it creates between the coals and hanging ribs. I’ve cooked as many as 15 racks of St. Louis style ribs at the same time. They turned out awesome.

The seal on the door is excellent and the way it fits on the Weber has made my cooks super easy. Using the snake method with the charcoal and adding wood chunks along the snake made for very consistent temps and a relatively effortless brisket cook.

Fits the 22” well, little to no leaks and it holds onto the weber body/lid perfect. I like it, might stack another ontop of it later on. Will close up the holes on the sides to get a better dial on the temps but overall best decision ive made and opens up more opportunities and space -love the smoked color its developing inside and outsides still untarnished. Newbies: close up the bottom, til its just a crack open for airflow, open the top exhaust all the way, keep the heat indirect and low -grab a beer and wait ... show more

We received this for Christmas and several days later made the best beef tenderloin we'd ever had. This makes the coals last longer and decreases the work needed to smoke meat on the Weber. It'll be even more useful once the temperatures are above freezing!

The extension ring arrived damage free. Checked the welds, no cracks of any kind. The metal is thin. The hinged door is flimsy, door locks are cheap. The biggest problem are the handles. The holes for the handles were drilled on the curvature of the ring but the handles are not curved. If I tighten the nuts I'm afraid I'll warp the extension ring because of the thin metal. Doesn't match up to my heavy steel Cajun Bandit extension ring. It'll take a few mods to make it usable. Update: Decided to season the ring at 350 degrees. The results are terrible. Two hours at 350 degrees and the weld seam is cracking. See photo. More issues but won't waste my time writing about it. Basically I threw away $178. ... show more
