It won't make rainbows in a window that does not receive direct sunlight and there always seems to be very small bubbles that you cant get rid of and some times the corners and edges do not want to lay flat but this is the second time I have bought this and it works really well! It's easy enough to install and comes off super easily without leaving any residue. I recommend measuring your windows and then cutting the film on a cutting mat using an exacto knife or a rotary cutter and then pull off the backing on the piece you cut and then put it up in the window. Just got it up today- looks nice- I got the darker one and it’s about what I expected- it is not a full coverage privacy solution but definitely makes it harder to see in- the rainbow effect really depends on the angle you’re looking at it and how the sun is hitting it - I found installation to be pretty quick and painless as well- all in all unless I wake up tomorrow and it’s all peeling off I’d say worth the money spent ... show more

You can install this vertically or horizontally, depending on the look you are looking for. It is a nice thickness, not too heavy and not too light. You won’t rip this on accident, make sure you are using sharp tools when you cut to size on the window itself. Watch a couple videos online to get the process of wetting both the window and the film before installation. See the before and after photos which shows the blurring affect yet they allow 100% of the light’s brightness to come through which is what we wanted, nice rainbow prism effect as well. ... show more

Used this for a garage window that used to have mini blinds, but they got covered in dead bugs and spider webs..So I've used cling film before-This is the NON-ADHESIVE type, which is far superior to the type with glue, in my opinion.. This cuts relatively easy, but there is not a guide on the release paper, like there is on say shelf liner and perhaps some window films..Also, the privacy is more like semi-private as you can see things behind the film and in a room with lights on when it' s dark outside, you can see a person, but they are somewhat obscured....So if you need total privacy, this film doesn't provide it.... You need to be careful in cutting this however, and not cutting it too small, as you can leave gaps along the sides, bottom or top...Better to leave it slightly larger, then apply it and cut it, although if you can cut it precisely before applying it, that is best...Cutting it when it's on the window isn't too easy..Even with a brand new razor knife blade, the film is grabbed/dragged by the blade and you can also cut an edge so it comes out jagged looking...And you'd be surprised how much you can see through a tiny gap...I wish they'd offer to custom cut films like this, so all you have to do is peel the release sheet and apply to the window... Tools Needed: Glass Cleaner to clean the window first and perhaps a glass scraper to remove spots of various crud that may be on the glass.. Spray bottle of water/soap to spray soapy water on the window and the back of the film Plastic putty knife, preferably a 3-4" wide one, with a thin towel laid on top of it and rubber banded in place...This is for smoothing out the film, pushing the soapy water and bubbles to the edges of the film to be released...And it works really really well...I would not recommend doing it with a bare putty knife as it may grab the film instead of gliding along it... I was very excited to install this on my bathroom window to allow for natural light to pass through but not to have transparency. I thought it would be a bit more of a deeper brown tone but still love the way it looks. The instructions mention it has a film on it, however mine did not so I just used the regular instructions and had no issues installing. TIP: When using make sure if you are trimming to have a very sharp xacto knife or razor to trim because of the texture to make the process a bit easier, mine was dull and drug a bit so it took a few extra moments. ... show more

I had six 6 pane basement windows in our church that needed done. Lets light in but prevents seeing in from the outside. Required a lot of cutting. Wish there had been a cutting grid on the back. Had about 6 corners that wouldn’t stick. Applied a dot of glue gun glue to those corners. Worked well.

We purchased a home that needs a lot of updates and I didn’t really want to do blinds in our kitchen, especially if the area is near any heat. I originally purchased this for our bathroom for the same reason - I just don’t want to deal with the hassle of blinds. I decided to take a chance and purchased two rolls as I loved the really cool crocodile pattern, the rainbow effect and that they look amazing in different color light! I’m planning on adding this to our bathroom window as well but tried it first in our kitchen with paned windows. We love it! It makes everything look so bright and fresh. Application was fairly simple, I managed to do these myself though I’m sure it would be easier with an extra set of hands. My only complaint: the directions say to cut along the grid lines on the back of the film however, there were no grid lines. It’s obviously important to measure before putting this film up however, it would have made cutting the film so much easier had there been lines to cut. Tip: I found it better to use a straight blade for cutting away excess rather than scissors that would leave the film jagged. ... show more

Fairly easy to put up. Takes time to measure and smooth out with a card but it is super easy to adjust if you might be off a bit. Razored a mm at the bottom, otherwise good fit. Looks great in all different times of the day. I’d recommend 👍🏽
