  • A quiet, sleek looking, printer.
As someone new to the world of 3D printing, I'd say this printer is extremely beginner friendly. This printer is the second one that I now own, the first being the Ender 5 Plus, and I have to state how impressed I am with Creality's newer printers. To my knowledge, this printer is one of Creality's more recent models and it definitely shows. Having worked with my personal Ender 5 Plus as well as the Ender 3, this printer's predecessor, a lot of thought has been placed into this upgraded design. Assembly is the simplest its ever been; having only a few things to screw together. Attach the Z-Axis assembly to the base, screw on the printer display, connect the extruder to its mount, and then plug in all the motors. When compared to the likes of the Ender 3 or Ender 5 Plus, this printer can be assembled in mere minutes. This printer also comes with all the bells and whistles. From the Bl-Touch, filament detector, and the already included silent motherboard and motors, this printer leaves little desire for further modification. It is a really silent printer. There have been times where I forget that the printer is printing due to how quite the motherboard and the motors are while in use. The print quality is excellent, a quality to be expected from Creality printers (given that you have calibrated and leveled your printer correctly). Although an auto-levelling feature is included, I prefer to manually level and adjust my printer hot-bed and the prints I have produced so far are high quality. If you have any issues with your prints, I'd advocate that you were unlucky to have received a defective part and recommend a replacement before writing this printer off. My only complaint with this printer is that the provided heat-bed plate tends to be difficult when removing thin prints. If you ever use the "Skirt" option in Ultimaker CURA, be warned that you may spend several minutes picking away at these extrusions at the end of each print. As one of the sleekest and modern looking printer; overall, this is a great printer!!! ... show more

  • Far exceeded expectations
The media could not be loaded. I'll preface this by mentioning I own and have owned many 3D printers, FDM and SLA/DLP alike. Many of those, I spent a considerable amount of time and effort making into far better-than-stock machines. I'm used to this, and normally find the upgrade path and tinkering enjoyable. With that said, I'm already relieved that this seems to need nothing to be at a level I would use consistently and expect results from. Yes, I'm going to swap to a favorite nozzle, build surface, heat break, etc. But those are definitely not required for this machine if I didn't already love to tinker. I was very pleased by the finishing and build quality. I have other Creality machines that cost more at purchase and did not have this level of finishing to them out of the box. It's much more solid than others of this style I've owned, and the assembly was under 20 minutes. After switching to the correct input voltage, leveling the bed, and getting my z-offset pretty close, I had a test print running in no time. The build volume is really nice at 300mm^3. It took some getting used to the interface, but I find it to be smooth and responsive. My normal printer has a 370x370x400 and can print almost any material without issue up to 300 degrees C, but it didn't do that out of the box. This one allows me to print in parallel most of the same materials at a larger size, like PETG, TPU (I haven't tried 82A TPE yet, but I bet it prints great). I'm impressed with the included Sprite extruder as well. I only review once in awhile, and usually when something is either terrible or excellent. Very happy for this occasion to be the latter. I recommend this printer to experienced and new users alike, just take your time to make sure you do your setups and checks first, and you should be seeing the same results. ... show more

  • Constantly fiddling with calibration and heatbed issues
In short, this printer is absolute garbage. I paid close to $600 for this piece of trash with expectations that there would be a learning curve. When I first got it, it was very easy to set up and is pretty user friendly. I started out loving this thing! It prints great... when it works. Fast forward to about a month in and I started getting errors that the heat bed temperature was out of range. It kept reading the heat bed as -15 degrees (apparently this is the default when it cannot detect the temperature). After fiddling with it for a while, I was able to get the error to disappear (although I am not really sure what did it). Then about a month later, I started getting prints that were WAY out of whack. The print bed would NOT stay level for anything. I was re-leveling the print bed almost after every print. Eventually, I started getting an error when trying to auto-level the bed. I would fiddle with the manual levelling until it was perfect, then I would run the auto-level to update the mesh, and again with the error. I got so frustrated with this that I just stopped messing with it for over a month. Today I decided to give it a try again and was FINALLY able to get the stupid thing to run the auto-level. THEN I STARTED GETTING THE HEAT BED TEMPERATURE ERROR AGAIN!!! Now, keep in mind that I have never set the heat bed temperature higher than about 60 degrees. And I have not set the print-head temperature higher than 245. ALSO, I have not had it that long. I purchased it about 4 months ago, But, I have not used it for about the past month and a half or so. So, for $600 I got all of 2 - 2.5 months of use of this. That is NOT what I would call worth the money. Oh, and in case you are wondering, Creality customer support is pretty much non-existent. If you have a problem with your item, GOOD LUCK TO YOU! And I am far from the only person who has had these problems. When looking online for solutions to my troubles I found out that TONS of people have problems with the AB.temp error, as well as warped build plates. So, if you want to purchase this product. Make sure you do SERIOUS research into problems that people are having with it. GARBAGE! ... show more
