    • Poor quality control
I ordered the Ender 3 S1 as my 2nd printer. My first is an Anycubic Vyper and I was very close to buying another one of these but I really like the direct drive extruder of the Ender 3 S1 as well as the community support of the Ender series of printers. My printers was delivered quickly and set up was very simple. I plugged in the printer and turned the power switch on and nothing..... you could hear the cooling fans running for the power supply and motherboard, nothing else. I double checked the input voltage of the power supply and it was set correctly. I removed the bottom cover and tested input voltage, which was good and the power supply output voltage which was also good. I tested the voltage at the motherboard and it was also good (24.1vdc). The LED on the motherboard was not illuminated and it showed no signs of life. I checked all connections and found no issues. It appears that the motherboard is dead on arrival. I initiated a return and a replacement will be here tomorrow. I am very disappointed with the quality control of Creality. Hopefully my replacement works correctly, but I'm a little worried. If the next printer is faulty I will be giving up on Creality and getting another Anycubic Vyper. ... show more

Bought my Ender 3 S1 from Creality 3D US. Originally, the lead time was nearly 4 weeks, but I was pleasantly surprised when the lead time was updated and I ended up getting the printer in 1 week. Nice! The printer was easy to assemble, and the accompanying assembly video on the SD card helped enormously. Print bed level and z-axis offset instructions were not very good, but luckily I was able to get watch a how-to thanks to BV3D (Bryan Vines) on YouTube! My first print was the stock Rabbit file on the SD card. When I started printing other files (for example, files that I found on Thingiverse), the standard settings in the Creality Slicer were pretty much spot on most of the time. 3D printing is never an exact science. You have to be able to really diagnose for yourself when you're having issues and reach out to the 3D printing communjty sometimes. But that's part of the experience. So far I have been printing with Sunlu PLA and I am very happy with the results. Kudos to Creality for making a product that is so friendly to first time 3D printer owners (that's me!). Great printer that is quiet, fast, and prints well out of the box. The only issue is that it is missing the door handle unit. Not that it broke off somewhere; it was never installed.

Got this machine for my son, he didn’t use it so it sat for a while. I decided to give it a go. Used it for a few months and the hot end went out. So I purchased a new hot end. Then I started getting the message above. So I consulted YouTube and the Creality website and friends that have their machines. To no avail. Finally got a return email advising my motherboard and thermostat were likely dead and I needed to replace them. But since the machine is 2 months out of warranty the company will do nothing for me. NOTHING. no part replacement. No new machine. Nothing. That was about $400 and a lot of time and effort down the drain. Don’t buy this machine and honestly, the customer service from this company is abysmal. ... show more

Our K1 Max printed fast and beautifully. Until it didn't. The extruder failed before we had gotten through the first reel of filament. When I removed the extruder to clear what I thought was a clog, I noticed the PTFE tube that should be between the extruder and heat break was missing entirely.
