The unit (3 boxes) came a week ahead of promised !!! 5 stars for that! It took about 1 hour to put together and was of the quality I expected. I purchased this for my wife's birthday and she asked if we should "send it back" over a scratch and minor dent - probably a function of the packing process. I explain that during my freshman college summer (in the 1970s) I worked in a factory in Michigan that made stuff like this and these were acceptable in affordable consumer products if not in an iPhone. We will patch the minor scratches - and I would still purchase this affordable unit again knowing how hard it is to get "affordable" products transported across the planet without some minor flaw. We have and American made high end gas pit that cost 2.5x as much as this - has a great finished look - but the gas valves are a pain in the ass everytime I want to turn it on. I need U-clamps to make that far more expensive and pretty unit work. I have none of those issues with this much more affordable product. ... show more

I would be surprised if ten pounds of any glass would be enough for all but the smallest fire pits. Be prepared to buy two bags. There is no question in my mind that using glass provides a much nicer experience than using lava rock does. The flames reflect off of the glass casting more light, the reflections look great, and the smaller pieces cause the flames to disperse more. Originally, our fire pit came without enough lava rock to cover the burner. I added a different type of blue fire glass. The first bag I purchased was shattered glass as opposed to beads like this product. I think the shattered style of glass looks a little better, but the beads are far easier to handle. Think about down the line when you want to remove the glass to clean out the pit. The shattered pieces are a bit sharp, and they leave dust. They also continue to break down into smaller and smaller pieces. These beads work fine and seem to be priced competitively. I would give them 4.5 stars, but you can't don that, so five stares. ... show more

I used theses blue glass beads for my outdoor fire pit. They look amazing and they really are beautiful. They are shiny and just are the perfect color blue. I like that the blue makes the fireplace look alive and the color just adds a whole other dimension to it. So far the rocks have worked well for me and really enjoy looking at them! ... show more

Add some pizzaz with these stones for your fire pit! Shiny and distinctive gives your fire pit a bump up from just lava rocks. I replaced my lava rocks with these and the stones gave it an added flair! Works great and no worries from them over heating . Work well with the flame , and sparkled better than lava rocks! ... show more
