  • Impressive scooter
Style: 2024 K2 Pro/Grey - 600W/17.4MPH/25miles
Review after 1 month: ---------------------------- So far, I feel the NIU Kqi2 Pro has been amazing, especially considering the price. After a full charge, you can ride 14 miles on top performance and an additional 3 miles conservatively. It rides at a top speed of 17mph, and smoothly due to the tubeless tires. Braking might feel rushed without a suspension, but the breaking becomes seamless if you set regenerative braking to full strength which brings me to my next point which is the App. I must say it's an extremely sophisticated App and the synchronization is seamless with the user having the ability to switch modes while on the drive. Things I wish were better: 1) I wish the top speed was at least 20mph. 17mph does seem slow for anything above a mile's ride. You can feel that the scooter can travel faster than its top speed limit but the US regulations restrict it from going any faster. 2) I wish there were indicators since it would have been considering you can't take your hand off the stick even for a sec, but well you can't have everything in one thing. Overall, I highly recommend this product without a tinge of doubt if your commute is around 2 miles one way. I will keep updating this review as time progresses. ... show more

  • First ride was a blast
Style: 2024 Air/Grey - Carbon Fiber/31miles
this thing is very fun deck is wide easily pulls me to the rated 20 mph speed at 232 lbs I tweaked my ride to go 15 with the custom settings on the app because I feel 20 is to fast I think it’s worth the money being light weight and easy to balance and steer I do have a few issues minor is the lights just randomly go on and off the alarm keeps going randomly even set it to mute wish they can fix this in a firmware update or something recommend it it’s expensive but it’s worth it feels safe …make sure u ride it correctly u don’t put both feet together and stand up straight instead u ride it like ur doing a drunk test with ur feet to heel on the deck or around that position so u can balance ur self on turns . Be safe always wear a helmet and always use both hands anything over 6 mph and u leave only one hand u are most likely going for a fall ... show more

  • Dangerously Defective and Disappointing After-Sales Support
Style: 2024 K3MAX/Grey - 900W/23.6MPH/40miles
As an owner of multiple electric scooter models and brands over the years, I was looking forward to my NIU KQi3 Max experience. Unfortunately, while my initial few months of ownership were very positive, the breakdown of key parts created an incredibly dangerous riding situation, leaving the scooter unridable, and the customer support received thus far has been disappointingly inadequate. The first three months of ownership were enjoyable, and after fixing an initial stem wobble with some Loctite, the KQi3 Max scores high marks for speed, acceleration, comfort, battery life, and design compared to other models in the price range. At the three-month mark of ownership, the throttle lever of my KQi3 Max became jammed in the 'on' position while riding. This malfunction resulted in an uncontrollable burst of acceleration that not only caused a minor accident, but it also shredded the rear tire — effectively rendering the scooter useless. Considering the high speeds this scooter is capable of, I consider myself lucky to have only sustained minor injuries. It could've ended significantly worse. Having faced problems with other brands in the past, I was aware that such issues can occur. What matters is how the company handles it. I promptly contacted NIU's support team to report this dangerous defect and was met with a sluggish, impersonal response. It took a week for them to finally get back to me with a ticket closure email, informing me that they are sending a replacement part for self-installation. My ticket ID, RMA BS230605-0002, apparently doesn't merit direct communication with a support team member or a conversation on an agreeable resolution. NIU's solution appears to be sending me an unidentified part with zero context or instructions for installation. Diagnosing the precise mechanical issue, determining the correct replacement part, and having the technical know-how to correctly install it should not be assumed as commonplace skills for all customers! Given the severity of the defect, a professional repair should at least have been initiated by NIU, or barring that, a complete unit replacement. The rear tire is connected to the motor, so it is possible not only the throttle but the propulsion system itself is compromised. There's a middling chance of me correctly identifying the severity of the issue and successfully fixing it myself, but the NIU team is just resorting to the cheapest and easiest option for them, not what will actually resolve the problem. How is an unidentified DIY part a good solution? It's disheartening and alarming how dismissive NIU has been regarding a defect that directly threatens user safety. In my extensive experience with electric scooters, I have never faced such a dangerous issue coupled with such a lackadaisical approach from the support team. In light of this, I cannot recommend the NIU KQi3 Max scooter or the company's support system. I will be happy to update my review if the support team is able to adequately address the mechanical issues, but at present, with numerous other reliable options available in the market, your safety and peace of mind deserve better. ... show more

  • KQi 1 Pro is no longer available
Style: 2024 K1 Pro/Grey-450W/15.5MPH/15.5miles
This refiew is for the KQi1 pro which is no longer available (right after we ordered it) which was about half the cost of the newer model KQi2 pro. It was very easy to assemble and all the screws/screw driver/charger/tire hose and owner's manual were all included, delivered in an undamaged box. It works fine without the app which is good as the app is not very easy to use with the scooter as it never connects to the scooter although the phone app does connect on line to show you route maps, distance etc. For the app to connect to the scooter, we have not gotten that to function yet as it just has message of connectivity issues and the thinking wheel turns without connecting blue tooth to phone/scooter although it should as it's in the phone. Not sure why, it's a newer android (2022) phone. The scooter is easy to change from kph to mph, turn on light, change to non-e mode and eco mode (which is a slower gear) It works very hard to get up a steeper grade and speed will drop to 1 mph and keep going and we live in a hilly area so we are not sure about keeping it yet. On the flat it is quite peppy. Holding it at a constant speed with your thumb is tricky if you don't want to go top speed but you can run it on eco which is slower and even change to eco while riding. Apparently you can lock others out from using it in the app but we have not yet been able to get that app to work with the scooter yet through blue tooth. It does work fine without the app though. IF the app worked with the phone blue tooth, then it would be nice to have a phone holder installed on the scooter from factory included. Scooter folds down and is not too heavy to carry one handed to move it around. So far we like it except for the lack of app function and it's lack of power going up a steeper grade maybe 25-30% grade and it does say that in the manual. It takes a 200# man up that grade at 1 mph and the engine complains during that 50 or so feet it goes up our street till it levels off again. ... show more
