This is a good scooter, but it doesn’t get up to anywhere near 17mph- I would say 15 max. The speedo will state 17, but my phone GPS and even NIU’s own app will state that the actual speed is a few mph less than indicated on the speedometer. Also: 40km range is only if you travel in eco mode at no faster than 9mph, which is painfully slow. Because when it indicates 9mph, it’s probably really just 7mph actual.     • Battery Failed with Error Code 33 Contacted Amazon Partial Refund Issued
Scooter failed to turn on after less than 10 miles. I went to turn it on one day and it came back with Error Code 33 and shutoff and would not turn back on. Based on the other one star ratings this seems to be a common issue with this scooter. Contacted Amazon and they immediately offered a refund, only partially since I had it for 3 months and it was outside of the return window, but given no other option was offered and the return option was immediately offered this tells me it is a known issue. Also gave me the offer of a replacement and when I asked if it failed again then what do I do, they immediately responded with the refund offer again and did not answer that question. My recommendation if you are going to buy a scooter use Fluidfreeride as this is where I bought the replacement for this thing. All in all it was a great scooter when it was working until it failed and based on that Error Code 33 it is a bettery issue. ... show more

Great scooter. I bought it for my partner because I already had a Segway scooter and he didn't have one and it's much more enjoyable to have two scooters instead of one. This one was cheaper than the Segway and looks way nicer. The acceleration on this one is quick and smooth, doesn't take long for it to speed up. It is bigger and longer than my Segway scooter. Holds a long charge and is easy to use for commuting. I've taken this to work and back, a couple of miles each way. Nice sturdy feel, easy to control and I like that it has both front and rear lights for those early mornings. My kid loves to take it to ball practice.     • Its a decent scooter
The niu kqi 2 pro feels sluggish at some place and the build quality is sub par to low because I have tested other scooters at this price point. This one is mostly plastic but don't get me wrong it does feel solid. I feel like the bell could be better incroprated and be an overall better bell. When I was riding it one point the power just stopped/ lowered. On a flat road I was going 7 mph, I am not a huge guy either! The day time running light is NICE! It also has no turning signals. The folding mechanism is one of the best in this price point. The rear light could be better because when you press the brake it should flash! The battery life is one of the worst parts! I go from 100 to 61 percent after 2/3 miles (this is at top speed). This scooter price goes up and down. If you can get it under $400 it is good choice but there is better options! ... show more

So when we got this- we were nervous but the price was right and it had a decent video review or 2. We got it set up for my son as a present and he was so thrilled, but it wouldn’t go very fast at all. We thought it was something to do with the app, but turns out the throttle was loose and slightly broken. It was still under warranty and would have cost a lot of money to ship back to China for a small & inexpensive part. Luckily it was an easy enough fix and now that baby flys!!! I mean really zooms at 40- it’s not slow at all. It really is a great buy. We haven’t had an issue since- so with knowing that things can get damaged along the way of shipping (& that we probably voided a warranty by fixing it ourselves & that we weren’t going to use)- I would buy another one for myself or my husband and take the chance it just happened to be that one. My other son has a Segway scooter and let me tell you- I thought that one was fast- this one leaves it in the dust every time! It’s fun- not a toy!!! This is a machine- so don’t buy it for little kids- it should be for older teens and up and with proper padding! Have fun & be safe! Update: so… we live in the Midwest and it’s time for winter to end… we do not drive scooters in the winter time, so the scooter sat for a few months… bringing it out today after at least 3 months (short winter this year) and the thing won’t move over 8mph… you HAVE to have the app to get this to work correctly & even then I now need proof of purchase even now- throughly confused as to why all of this is a problem after a few months… Amazon troubleshooting basically come down to reset it… which has yet to work… I think with all the random troubleshooting issues we’ve experienced beyond this latest, I don’t know that Id but this scooter again… ... show more

    • DONT BUY-Disappointed - Battery Failed Too Soon
I purchased this electric scooter in September 2023 for $500, expecting it to last longer than a year, but I’m very disappointed. After just six months, the battery began to overheat regularly, forcing me to stop mid-ride to let it cool down before continuing. We only used the scooter 3-4 times a week during the summer and didn’t touch it during the winter, so it wasn’t even used year-round. Now, a year in, the battery is completely dead. For the price, I expected much better quality and durability. Electric scooters should be built to last, especially with light use. I would not recommend this product due to its poor battery performance and disappointing lifespan. ... show more
