We bought 2 of these after being disappointed by an entry level scooter with 15.5 miles max speed and creaky construction. The one annoyance is having to set the custom speed to the max after the unit has been powered off. Takes 5 seconds to set speed to max so not worth making that a deciding factor. The wide handlebars and wide deck, double brakes with front and brake lights make this a much more comfortable and safer scooter to choose. We do a few loops in our gated community at top speed and the battery still shows 5 bars after 45 minutes of riding, and thats for a 210lb rider. We ride daily and these scooters hold power so well they do not require daily charging. We are officially NIU riders for life now! Best scooter ever! ... show more

    • Poorly Made Tires and no diagrams
Ok. Six months ago I purchased the KQI3 Pro. The scooter is well built and fun to ride. I ride it on flat bike paths. The problem is with the tires. After the sixth month my back tire started to have multiple air leaks. I thought it was one hole but it happened in multiple sites on the tire. These weren’t punctures, the tire was deteriorating and had multiple cracks in between the threads. Now before you think of purchasing this scooter watch a utube video of how to change the rear tire. I’m sure the average person will become discouraged. Next, try and find a bicycle repair shop that will replace the tire. Bottom line. If you get a puncture and can’t use a tire plug, good luck. Think twice about purchasing electric scooters. Do your homework first. Well, I finally removed the back tire by cutting it off with a Fein multi tool and a reciprocating saw. Please if you have any common sense. Do not purchase electric scooters. They’re to hard to fix and there are no shops to repair them. I think I’m going to cut my loses and sell the scooter. What a waste of hard earned cash. I've been writing this review in segments as I was trying to replace the bad tire with a new one. I purchased a new tire from Niu and finally after a real fight I was able to mount the new tire onto the rear motor hub. Well when i finally starting inflating it with my electric air pump, air started leaking from the side walls between the hub and the tire. Come on !! Is this really something people want to contend with ? So what did I do after that. I put the scooter in my car trunk and gave it to away to someone who likes to tinker with these things. He told me these scooters require to much maintainace along with money to have them fixed. Think before u do business directly with a Chinese owned company. ... show more

We gifted a scooter for our son to commute a 3 mile to school in the past year. First, the segway had a loose stem, and the second out, the motor burned out within 150 miles. Dealing with the warranty of segway is a nightmare, and we decided not to give them the 3rd change. Niu Scooter is defiantly heavier than alternative brands, but it comes with a fully loaded. Front suspension is actual with shock absorbers, not cheap springs. Disk brakes, the motors get cut off from power before applying brakes, and the electric regeneration begins. It is pretty easy to maneuver it and lock it from the app. However, going uphill is tough if you are a heavy rider. My husband(200lbs) tried to do so, and the scooter was limiting at 9-11 miles per hour, so you need to kick assist it going up. Overall we enjoy it. The craftsmanship is excellent, and now it has 80 miles on it, and there are no flaws. ✅ I hope you found my review helpful. ✅ ... show more

I got this scooter for my son after his last one got stolen. He loves it. But after 4 months of use, it generated error code 03, which seems to be quite common. I took apart the thumb throttle and found a wire that came disconnected from the hall effect sensor. I tried to repair it by milling out the housing to get to the PC board and reattaching the wire, but I must have damaged something else on the board in the process, because the throttle still won't work. I put in a request for a new throttle, because I was not able to find a replacement throttle or hall effect sensor online after a whole afternoon of searching. ... show more

    • Really Nice Quality.
I bought this for my son. He's a little small for it right now but, he is able to use it. He uses it on e-save mode. The standard mode is a little too fast. I can ride it for fun here and there. It is heavy though... and larger than it may look.
