This is my first "real" camera. My wife has a Cannon digital SLR, exchangeable lenses etc... She was pretty excited about the Nikon Coolpix. She likes the convenience of it vs the different lenses with the SLR stating that it can do most of what she does with her other camera but without having to change/carry the lenses. I plugged it in and shot a complete you tube video in one day utilizing the supplied batteries and mini tripod. Its the best looking video on my You Tube channel (definitely not saying much, I'm 40 y/o with like 20 subscribers but whatever. We really only do it so my son can have a You Tube Channel, but I digress: I bought the refurbished 40x zoom camera with the accessory pack for from Beach Camera ~ $220 give or take. It came with the camera. 4 AA disposable energizer batteries (yes the camera needs all four) 4 AA hi capacity rechargeable batteries and an AC battery charger Screen protector Camera Strap Lens cover attachment thing to hang the lens off the camera strap when using camera Lens Cleaner Kit Camera Bag (seems lower end, one of the strap attachments was broken on arrival from the factory but I had an extra strap laying around that was nicer anyways) Little Tripod with rubber legs (its actually very nice and stable) SD card holder (this camera uses a regular SD card, I had purchased a mini but it works fine with the adapter) I got a cool little SD to USB converter (it looks like a flash drive but you plug an SD card into the back side, I have never seen one of these before, its neat) I think that's it but I might have forgotten something. I haven't looked at ay videos, read any manuals, this is my first real camera. Its super easy to use. I'm sure there are functions I will never use but it takes great quality photos. The refurbished one was $70 cheaper than the new one with accessory pack from the same company. I don't regret the refurbished one at all, it looks and performs as new. My wife says it will get more use than her more expensive camera simply because it takes good photos, can zoom quite a bit, is lighter and is easier to use. She told be its not my vloggin camera, its our new family camera. It came with everything I needed (except for the SD Card), even a set of batteries to use while I charged the rechargeable ones. You do need to buy your own SD Card. For reference we have a Cannon Digital SLR, a Go Pro Hero (little square box? and a Go Pro Hero with the screen on back. Both older ones with 1080p HD. Then a couple IPhone5s. We like this little Nikon camera. I would buy it and buy it refurbished again without a doubt. ... show more

Usually not too impressed by things but this camera is awesome, looks absolutely brand new, super easy to use, clarity is amazing, we own a few expensive camera's and this rivals any of them, love that we can hook it right to the t.v. Just opened it to play with it, ( purchased it for my wedding next weekend and honeymoon; we saved on a photographer and had him just take pictures and rely on this camera and my family to take candid videos). The quality is 5 stars, the amount of extras they give you is unreal ! You get the camera, very cool tripod that has amazing grip and flexibility, camera strap, battery pack and chargeable batteries, screen protector, SD card and a case for both the SD Card and the actual camera. I decided on this camera based on the overwhelming positive ratings. I was looking for a bridge camera that would give me long lens capability without the need to change from lens to lens on my DSLR. While the camera arrived late, and amazon confused two order numbers, the camera is substantially as advertised, which is very good. The package included an array of extras which make it a ready-to-go affair. I was initially confused by the inclusion of 4 AA (1.5) volt batteries while most reviews indicate that the camera requires AA format 1.2 volt rechargeable batteries (included). The camera links with smartphones via a downloadable app called SnapBridge. The connection is made via Bluetooth and was fairly easy to do, although the directions appear not to instruct you to turn on Bluetooth, the camera and the app to make the initial connection, which must be done. Having worked through this process, the connection works very well indeed. The performance of the camera is not disappointing, but does require som learning to get the most out of it’s capabilities. Fantastic! Everything was delivered earlier than expected. The camera is immaculate, not a mark on it. I have only taken a few pictures so far, flowers and the moon, but they came out amazing with just the auto settings. If you are looking for a great starter camera, do not hesitate to purchase this from THIS seller. Exact same camera from other sellers does not get the same ratings due to seller errors. My only complaint is that either the re-chargeable batteries or the charger itself is faulty as the batteries don't seem to be charging ( the red indicator light on the charger stays lit ). I still had to give it 5 stars due to the quality of the package, the delivery time and the amount of stuff in this kit. I will definitely buy from this seller again and I would recommend that you do the same. ... show more

Received the camera kit last week and noticed the 16GB SD card was missing. I emailed Beach Camera through Amazon and they promptly overnighted me a replacement 16GB SD card without further ado. Camera is refurbished (from the description and comes in a plain white box) but it looks brand new. I had a chance to spend a few hours today playing with it and I am very pleased. I recommend downloading the B500 Quick Start & Full reference manuals from Nikon as they were very helpful. The quick start answered about 90% of my questions and the full manual explained the rest I was not clear on. The snap bridge app is awesome. This is a free download from googleplay. It works quite well transferring pictures from the camera to my phone. ... show more
