I did a lot of research before I ordered a blackout curtain. This is a rental house. I did not want to drill into wall. I did not want anything made from toxic materials that off gassed and had a chemical odor. I watched an excellent video put up by a satisfied customer. I ordered. It was easy to install and does the job perfectly and looks tidy. There are mini blinds on the window. I put the Nighton product on the wood frame over the mini blinds. You cannot tell it is there from the outside of the house. I also liked the fact that it was portable. Plus, customer service is excellent. I needed some more velcro stickers. They were quick to respond and sent more free of charge. Although not the least expensive on the market, it is reasonably priced and very good value. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for blocking out unwanted light neatly and safely. ... show more

    • Very effective as long as you think out your application and double measure before you cut.

This was a great buy and does exactly what it says it will do, black out your room. Just make sure you think out your application, specifically your exact measurements in relation to where you are goin to affix the velcro fasteners (Frame vs. outside perimeter of the frame (wall). Cut accordingly and use a large measuring square to make your cuts straight. Also, make sure you are using a sharp quality pair of scissors. Like dad used to say, measure twice and cut once. Tip: When not using the black curtains, I roll it up and affix us a couple pieces of velcro strips to secure them to the top of the window cill. Extra benefit: The reflective exterior of the curtain repels a lot of heat from direct sunlight, and kept the room cool. ... show more

I needed to make a sunny room pitch black so I could use it for making screens for screen printing. I read the reviews and ordered some from Amazon. The reviews were right. NIGHTON Portable Blackout Curtains were so easy to install using the included velcro strips and the room, that faces the sun, is pitch black. I had previously tried 7 layers of thick blankets, but the light still came in. NIGHTON Portable Blackout Curtains took a minute or two to install and work perfectly. I like the idea of these but they kept falling down with the adhesive provided. I ended up using a couple thumbtacks to hold in place. They do block out light really well if they stay up

Easy to put up, blocks light very well. My windows are smaller, so I had to cut it, which was easy to do with a pair of scissors. It is lightweight enough to move slightly with a fan on, but a piece of Velcro in each corner (which they included) worked fine to fix that. Did have some creases from being folded in the package, but that personally doesn't bother me. Would recommend if you had some oddly shaped windows or wanted something other than traditional blinds. ... show more

They work pretty well for blocking out the light. It was east to put up and I love the fact that they have the velcro so if I want them down I can take them down. I think my only problem is one corner the adhesive for the velcro keeps coming off and leaving the adhesive on the curtain but that's an easy fix. Definitely glad I got them. ... show more
