Ordered this to replace a similar doorbell that just clunked instead of ringing. I was leery after reading reviews but cant beat the price. It came in the factory box shipped in a bubble mailer. No damages as some have stated ( broken mounts for the chime bars..etc...) Easy to install and used the existing mounting holes from the old doorbell. Very easy and simple to install just hooking up a couple wires. I am very happy with this and will buy again in the future if ever needed here or anywhere else.     • Basic AC Powered Doorbell
This is a doorbell that is powered by a standard 16-24v door bell transformer. I replaced an old rusty one that's been in my house probably 50 or so years and this worked fine. It's a pretty basic unit and does what it should, but I feel that the chime isn't loud enough. I know I have it wired correctly as I tested it both with the one in my house and a new one I had and the volume was the same. The plastic box is a tad smaller than the old one I had. I had really hoped it would be the same size so it could match the "paint hole" but it didn't. I won't hold that against the door bell however, but I do think the plastic is incredibly cheap. This thing creaked and groaned in my hand, and I am confident that if I gripped it too hard, I could have easily cracked the outer casing. This is contrary to the one I replaced it with that was very solid. They don't make 'em like they used to, I guess. It works fine, I just wish there were better options. ... show more

    • Good chime, but the mounting screws suck
The sound is good and tyhe unit appears to be well made. Installation, though straightforward, should not have taken as long as it did. The mounting screws were difficult to work with. Assuming the chime is going to be mounted high up on a wall while the installer is on a ladder, the screws to mount need to be as user friendly as possible. Ditch the slotted screws and provide phillips heads. ... show more

    • Good replacement but not manufactured purfectly
better than nothing. the bell sounds partial when it drops like the mechanism is not installed straight. I'm not talking about the back doorbell position, either. I could probably troubleshoot, but this is such a simple device, not sure why that should be necessary.
