  • Lasted almost two years
Color: Black
The chair has been suitable for almost two years with no complaints. The padding did begin to have less support, but the covering has held up well. Daily usage for hours at a time, with two cats in the house. No peeling or texture on the leather, and has not ripped or torn. The last couple months I noticed the piston support was wearing out and had some internal wobble. The chair never lowered on its own and still supports weight. The plastic bracket that connects the seat to the back, and mounts the arm, broke right by the bolt to the seat. I leaned back, there was a pop, and I instantly got a couple more inches of tilt range. The chair is still usable, but only a matter of time before the other side breaks as well, and I end up on the floor. I feel like I got my money's worth from the chair, but will not buy this one again due to an increase in how much I use my desk. You pay a third of the price of high end chairs and get about a third of the lifespan. ... show more

  • ok chair, but pretty cheap construction
Color: Grey
So, I went into this purchase knowing the chair was going to be on the lower end of quality, given the price point of the item. I wasn't disappointed. The chair was very easy to assemble, even by myself. I didn't have any issues with assembly, and I didn't look at the instructions once until after I had finished to confirm I had assembled it correctly. I just followed what seemed reasonable given the number of bolts for a given portion of the assembly. Take this with a bit of a grain of salt, as I have a degree in mechanical engineering and am no stranger to the nuances of product design and development. The overall construction of the chair is well designed from a visual standpoint. The chair is relatively comfortable, albeit a little stiff on the cushioning. I'm a little on the leaner side, so I find the space between the arm rests to be adequate, but the arm rests are a little high for me (but I do have longer arms than average). I'm somewhat tall (6'4") but the chair's height accommodates my dimensions rather well. The construction of the chair is a little lacking in the hidden regions, though. The stitching in the cushioning seems adequate and moderately well done, but the staples holding the underside together is a bit less than desirable and shows the build quality. The biggest gripe I have about the chair is the lack of stiffness in the mechanical components of the chair, beneath the seat. They've been engineered to be on the less expensive side so they provide more flexure than I would have liked, or what I would have personally specified if I had designed it up. The chair wobbles from side to side with very little leaning in the chair. It also clunks a little bit when I lean to the left, just putting my weight on the arm rest as I would normally do when reading something while resting my head on my hand. It doesn't do this when I lean to the right. I've been very cautious to ensure that all the fasters were adequately torqued to ensure proper tension on the bolts without stripping, so I'm confident its not loose fasteners that are slipping, but there's somewhere else in the tilt assembly that its not very tight. The high flexure area could also stem from the wood they used for the seat core, rather than stiffening it with a piece of metal, but without knowing I'm only guessing. I can see they've engineered this to barely meet the minimum requirements of tolerance and meet the regime of acceptability where those looking for a cheap chair will tolerate it, but those looking for more stiffness and build quality will opt for a more expensive chair. The single pin that holds the two tilt brackets together is a bit thin and ideally would have been a bit larger in diameter, with a minimal impact to the end item price. Another thing that would have stiffened things up quite a bit would have been using 14ga steel for the tilt brackets, rather than the 16ga that they used. it would have cost an extra dollar or two in material cost, but would have meant a very different end user experience I think. Additionally, the cost of the extra hardware in the hardware kit would have been much more aptly put toward some lock washers rather than relying on the locking features on the underface of the button head socket head screws provided. The chair does ok, it just shows that it could have reached a little higher for minimal cost. I would have gladly paid an extra $50 for a more sturdy tilt bracket assembly or upgraded piston, if it meant it felt a lot stiffer than it does now. As it stands, it feels super loose and wobbly when I sit in the chair (and I'm not that big, I'm tall, but I'm barely 200 lbs soaking wet). Brand new, it feels like I've had it for something like 5 years with the amount of wobble that's in it. But, I can't complain much, I did go for a budget chair after all. 3-month update: still moderately comfortable, still clunking when I lean, still super wobbly (most of the the wobble comes from the gas cylinder). The arm rest foam (inside the fabric) has largely lost it's resilience. I would have put twice the padding on the arm rests I think or just made it more dense. As it is my elbows feel bruised from them when I spend any substantial amount of time resting my elbows on them from how hard they feel. All in all, still an inexpensive, lower-quality chair with a lot of corners cut in manufacturing. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble, moderately comfy
Color: Black
A little on the firm side, but I'm adequately equipped on my backside to handle a firm seat. A lot of people are complaining about the height of the armrests, but I am 5'9 and I don't have any issues with the height. I assembled this on my own and it took approximately 45 minutes without any issues. It seems sufficient for the price range of seat this fall under. Not the highest quality, but I didn't pay for the highest quality. Also not the worst, so I think it will work just fine. ... show more

  • Well made. Short people be aware…
Color: Ivory
I like this chair; it is well made with nice stitching and leather. I am 5’5” and my feet barely touch the floor, on the lowest setting. So, be aware if you have really short legs…

  • Love chair not color as pictured.
Color: Grey
Love my chair, the color is off it appears that it is more metallic but it's not at all. More like steel gray, muted color. That was a disappointment.

  • Terrible car
Color: Ivory
I brought this chair because of the reviews. Its not good for any one that works an 8 hr day. This is a terrible chair you can’t adjust the back of it. It doesn’t go up or down for your height. The wheels doesn’t want to roll forward. I had to buy a back pillow for me to get som back support, for the price it should be a better product. I ended up buying a $400 + gaming chair and givie this chair away. Yes, the arms was kind of hard to put together for 1 person, the plastic parts kept popping off if you don’t get the screws in the holes even. I waisted my money. Don’t buy this chair. ... show more

  • Good Chair, assembly difficult
Color: Dark Brown
Received the chair much quicker, next day delivery! I watched the installation video before putting it together. Still the assembly was difficult, as it took several attempts to get the base installed, due to metal inserts which are not in line with the screw holes. Out of five inserts only 2 were aligned properly. Hope it doesn't break in the long run as the metal will flex to level it! Installing the arms were challenging too, as the screw holes are not straight! Because of this issue, I am giving only four stars overall and easy to assembly as three stars! That being said the chair is nice, looks sturdy and well made to a certain extend! Support is fine and ergonomics are good. Brought for my wife's office and she will let me know how this chair will work out! Recommend the product! ... show more
