I am scheduled to receive neck and shoulder nerve ablation due to constant soreness and tightness. This is done by burning the nerves so they are gone. Without nerve input you get rid of the pain. I've been using contour memory foam pillows for a long time and it seems like the quality in a lot of them has gone down. Not with this pillow. It's a little smaller than the one I had before but it has the same neck support I need. My neck def felt better in the morning. Obviously not every pillow is for everyone and I am still on the fence on how I feel about this one. It's definitely supportive and has relieved my neck pain about 50% in just a couple nights. It has firm support for my neck and shoulder which of course, is its intended purpose. Personally, I wish it was a bit softer and had a little more support around the crown of my head when I'm on my side. I have only had the contour memory foam pillow for a short time, but I knew this after the first night - it's very comfortable, very well made, has good support, and it's a perfect size. My head doesn't just rest ON it, it rests INTO it. The area that needed good support is between my head and shoulders - I'm a side sleeper. With this memory foam contour pillow I have a perfect set-up for good support - I put a relatively flat feather pillow underneath the contour pillow and it is just the height I need to give me good support.
