I have a small Yorkie with no teeth who gets more water on the floor than in his mouth. There is so much water in front of his bowl it soaks whatever I use to try to keep the floor dry. I have tried everything! I bought this with low expectations but it has worked! No more water in front of the feeding bowls at all, the floor is dry. It is amazing to see how much water is in the bottom of the container when I empty it. After a few days of use I empty the water in the bottom and it's almost half full of water which would normally be on my floor, carpet, pad, etc. . I love this product. ... show more

It's a decent height even without buying the add on height pieces. It's lightweight but sturdy. Absolutely love the large capacity water bowl. The food bowl holds quite a bit as well. We bought the cat size. Our kitty eats up on a shelf on our baker's rack over in a pet food area in our kitchen. Can't put his food on the floor or the dogs will eat it. And Louis is a bit messy, and we foster dogs who when they are new to the house and kitchen, they very easily find his food even on the waist-high shelf. So I was hoping the sides on this feeder would provide enough of a deterrent so the kitty food wasn't in plain sight. For the most part, it works great! I hadn't realized how much dry and wet food gets dripped and splattered here and there. I used to use a placemat under Louis's bowls (one dry and one wet) so that would catch the mess, but I love how this feeder catches all that. Bowls do come with the feeder, but I just place our own dishes on top of the bowls. We use clean dishes each day, and this seems easy enough so we don't need to wash and dry the bowls all the time. But the bowls themselves are nice so you could definitely use those as designed. ... show more

This double bowl set up is perfect for our fur baby. Sadie, our Belgian Malinois eats and drinks easily from these bowls set about 8" above floor level. There is so much less mess on the floor and walls. The set up not move as she eats enthusiastically from the wide bowl. I'm not mopping up water or sweeping up kibble. We're fans of the Neater Eater! Extremely well designed dog bowl combo. The water bowl is larger than the food bowl so the dog has plenty of water. There is a tall backing on the back to prevent food from going everywhere. Also a water reservoir below to catch any spills. Overall an excellent design!
