I spent a lot of time in a chair, during work and even after work I'm on a computer, for the last few days I've been using this elliptical and I'm very pleased with it, first it is very light for what it has, pretty much anybody can carry it, very silent as you can hear on the video, so I can be on a meeting and use it, it is nice to have the remote as I don't have to bend all the time to turn it off or on, but you can do that with your foot if you want, instructions are clear enough, it seems to be very well built with great quality materials. ... show more

    • Works well, but it isn't what I needed
I find that my best cardio comes from elliptical machines, and I was hoping this (or something like it) might work as a substitute. Unfortunately, the range of motion is too small for me to exercise comfortably with it. I ended up using my hip abductors (or adductors, I'm not sure) without using my larger thigh muscles. I have pelvic floor issues, so it's not great to exhaust those muscles. I had also hoped for variable resistance, but that isn't what this thing does. Instead, it drives the motor faster when you up the settings. If you aren't pushing on the pedals (and let the machine move your legs) then this will give you more movement/"exercise," but that's not what I wanted. You also can't stand on it. That's on me for not reading the description better. The foot straps are a little odd. You just put them around the whole pedal; there isn't any place for them to tuck in. It also took me a minute to find where the arm exercise elastics hooked in. It IS super quiet. The noisiest part are the beeps that the controls make as you're setting yourself up. This isn't my favorite under desk elliptical for several reasons: * The instructions are terrible. And they don't match to the display. * The controls on the elliptical mostly don't work at all. I press the button, and they just don't respond. * There's no way to turn it off without unplugging it. * The lights to indicate which mode is being displayed are barely visible. And It seems to rotate through all of the mode displays no matter what I try to set it to. (Better instructions might help here.) * The only way I could control it was with the remote (since the buttons on the elliptical don't really work). * The remote takes AAA batteries. No batteries are included. * The hand straps and the foot straps are not mentioned at all in the instructions, so had to guess around to figure out 1. What the foot straps are. 2. How to attach each to the machine. * The foot straps are short & the velcro is set up so that the straps are incredibly tight and difficult to get feet through. * The machine can only be adjusted for rotations per minute. The is no resistance adjustment or incline adjustment. * It can be pedaled without being turned on. I had my elderly mom try using it, and for her these were big issues: * The instructions confused her. * The nubs on the petals hurt her delicate feet (I thought they felt good/massage-like.) * The straps were nearly impossible for her to get her neuropathy feet into out of. Would not recommend this. This small elliptical is easy to set up and use, allowing you to move it manually or let the machine do the work while you adjust your feet or speed. However, I have a few complaints that led me to give it four stars. First, while the display offers a lot of useful information, the labels indicating what each data point means are too small and hard to read without bending down. They should be larger for better visibility. Second, the remote control functions well but has a limited range; you need to point it directly at the display and get close for it to work. Lastly, while the machine can move on its own, there’s no way to adjust the resistance if you want to use it manually, making it less challenging.
