  • Perfect for lowing your chair’s minimum height
Size: 2.2 Inch(Sinking 2.4")
I had recently bought a new office chair only to realize its lowest height setting was too high for me to fit my legs under my shorter-than-average desk. This replacement gas lift was perfect for lowering the chair, allowing me to keep the office chair that I liked instead of returning it and finding a new one. PS you’re going to need a mallet and a pipe wrench to remove the existing gas lift in your chair ... show more

  • Perfectly fits ALL SECRET LAB DESK CHAIRS
Size: 2.2 Inch(Sinking 2.4")
This shorter lift cylinder perfectly replaced the standard lift cylinder in my Titan XL chair from SecretLab, the gaming chair manufacturers that sell overpriced computer chairs. Seriously, these chairs are basically the Alienware of gaming chairs. They're nice and all, but they fall apart easily just like all the other ones, but you're paying for a name brand now 'cause they spent so much on advertising. Anyway, the lift cylinder replacement was pretty each, provided you have a heavy rubber mallet and a vice. I tipped my chair over, smacked on the chair portion a few times and popped it off the lift cylinder, then set the base in the my vice (upside down) and smacked the cylinder out of the base. Installing the new lift cylinder is just dropping it into the base, then setting the chair frame back on it. Note: the cylinder cover that comes with the chair will prevent the shorter cylinder from seating properly into the chair receiver, so I just tossed it in the garbage. I wrote to Secret Lab and tried to get the exact dimensions of the cylinder to ensure that I was ordering the correct one, but Lance was being all evasive and refused to answer the question. He will let you know that you might void your warranty if you modify the chair at all (good up to 5 years). I didn't mind, though 'cause my chair is over 5 years old and modern products are designed to fail in some way about two minutes after the warranty expires anyway. I upgraded the wheels on this chair, too, so it slides nice and smooth now. You can pay SecretLab $50 to send you in a couple weesk the same set you can get on Amazon for $30 in two days. That's an option, but not right now 'cause it's out of stock, but Amazon still has like ten thousand in stock from like fifteen different vendors. So, if you got gifted a SecretLab chair like I did and ended up having a frustrating experience with their customer service, you're in luck: you can upgrade it with standard office chair parts 'cause as unique as they advertise they are, they just use the same cheap garbage everyone else uses. ... show more

  • Perfect to lower your gaming chair
Size: 2.2 Inch(Sinking 2.4")
This is what I needed to lower the height of my gaming chair. I dunno why the newer gaming chairs all have very tall pistons in them. I like to be lower to the ground to fit my legs under the desk. This is the perfect solution to not throw out or return that new chair and so easy to install.

  • lowered my chair by a quarter inch
Size: 2.2 Inch(Sinking 2.4")
Might vary from chair to chair if the other reviews are anything to go by, but my own experience was that this offered a negligible shortening of a quarter inch when I swapped the original cylinder of my chair. It got my hopes up with being a couple of inches shorter overall than the original cylinder when compared side by side, but in practice was about the same bottomed out as the original when installed. Thankfully this was on a relatively new chair and the original cylinder wasnt too wedged in yet. I'd be super frustrated if I had put a ton of effort removing an old wedged in cylinder only to find negligible or marginal difference in height. Guess I'll buy a foot rest instead. ... show more

  • saved my chair
Size: 2.2 Inch(Sinking 2.4")
I purchased a big and tall chair from staples that really doesnt have a low setting, and I couldnt fit under my desk, this did the trick perfectly, but I will note that I do not use the lift since I needed to be as low to the ground as possible

  • Fixed my height problem, but now I have a wobble problem.
Size: 2.2 Inch(Sinking 2.4")
Bought this for my Staples Joel chair, and I'm finally able to sit at the correct height with the chair all the way down (I'm 5' 5"). However, like a lot of other people have said, the chair is pretty wobbly. You can lean in any direction and feel the chair slightly silt, which is honestly kind of annoying, especially coming from a chair that had zero tilting problems. I'm still more thankful that I fixed my height problem, but I will be looking elsewhere for a similarly sized piston that may be made better. ... show more

  • I use the 2.2 Inch(Sinking 2.4") one and it worked for me.
Size: 2.2 Inch(Sinking 2.4")
Just got a chair from amazon to replace my old one and the new one was too high for me. I didn't do a precise measurement, but just eyeballing it looks like it drops the height around 1 inch. Also, I used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7QF8T5Y?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details to remove the old cylinder from the bottom of the seat of the chair and a 10lb free-weight (in place of a mallet) to remove the old cylinder form the wheel base, and that worked well. Also, I was thinking it might not work, because the mid section of the new cylinder appeared to be ~4.1" long and looking under my chair, the old one appeared around the same, but it worked way better than I thought it would. The new cylinder sank way more than I though it would into the wheel base. Hope this helps someone else. ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Size: 2.2 Inch(Sinking 2.4")
Reduced the height of the Serta Hensley chair about 1.5 inches. Now feet can comfortably rest on the ground. Fits the base and seat, spins 360 and no issues adjusting the height. Six stars if there was a another options to reduce it even lower. Maybe reduce by another half inch.
