This is probably perfect for large cats, unfortunately I have a XL cat lol. He definitely still enjoys it, and the hammock on the bottom is the perfect size for him. He also likes the scratching posts, which he ignores on most other things I've bought him. I searched for months for something affordable, simple, and sturdy, and ended up with this one. It didn't disappoint. At pet stores, the Cat trees either looked like they were already about to fall apart, or they cost $300 and had way too many bells and fiddly bits. This one is a nice middle ground. Feels very solid, like the platforms aren't going to break off. The base is not very heavy however, so using the included wall strap is probably a good idea. Especially if your cat grew up to be half mountain lion like mine. For an XL cat like mine, the transitions are a little cramped. He likes climbing to the upper levels, but only from the chair that's next to the tree. That's just him being lazy though. Overall a great cat tree for the money. ... show more

The cats were getting too big to share the cat tree. Bought this one (on the right) to give a second area. The cats love it! The material is a bit cheap and rips easily; carpet would be a lot higher quality. The stability is okay, the other one we have (on the left) has a larger base for more stability. And the cat bed is a little smaller than the other one I have, but works for my 20 lb orange cat. It's fine for the 11 lb white cat too. I was able to put this together easily with the tool provided in the package. For the price, I think this is a great purchase! The cats have choices now!! ... show more

Positives: Looks nice (we chose gray). Easy to put together. Our cats love it and took to it right away. Perfect height, not overly tall which is why I think it hasn't toppled over yet. Negatives: The shelves aren't very wide. You'll see from the pics, my cats hang off them. Lol If it wasn't for that one negative, we would give it 5 stars because our cats love it and we feel on the most part it's money well spent. 😻 ... show more

Overall this is a great perch for my 13lb girl. She loves the little house, spent most of the first night in it. Two thing done differently that would make it perfect. The bottom support posts should be at least 5-6” taller so the hammock is closer to window sill level. Those same post should be wrapped fully in the rope material. The scratching area is pretty skimpy & close to the floor for a big cat to stretch out like mine does when she scratches. I do recommend it, it’s a nice compact tree. ... show more

Received this item on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Assembly was straightforward, except one part was missing and another part was not the specified length (so I was unable to mount the circular platform is the top platform . It's an opportunity to see how customer service is! When things have been made right, I will revise this review accordingly. (I fully understand that volume production sometimes results in labeling and packaging errors. I'm not mad; just waiting for a response) Edited to add...initiated a return through Amazon, which arrived in a timely fashion...at which time I realized that the part I THOUGHT was missing was screwed into the part I thought was too long; the kit was complete and correct in the first place and it was operator error. In the meantime, the vendor reached out and expressed every intention of making things right. Fortunately, that wasn't necessary. The replacement is on its way back to Amazon and the tree is complete and looks great! We'll see your long it takes the cats to take full advantage, but I'm quite happy with the purchase! ... show more

Half the weight as my previous tree and narrow. My cat was scared to climb all the way to the top level because the platform below it doesn't extend out far enough as a base for him to jump up from. As a result I'm was using the old tree next to it for him to have an easy climb up (and over) to it. Edit: after a couple of months getting used to the top of the new tree I removed the old one and he now has the confidence and motivation to use the new tree now.
