Description

The Sinclair media console features a curving mantle and base finished in an aged cherry finish and offers the latest in Bluetooth technology. This mantel has a Bluetooth enabled firebox which allows you to control heat and flame settings from your own phone. Smoked glass doors open to side storage cabinets that are equipped with premium down lighting that illuminates when the doors are open. With multiple adjustable shelves, plenty of space for AV equipment that offers not only great looks and warmth, this media center style fireplace also gives you great functionality as it is designed to hold your flat screen TV with plenty of extra shelf space.     • Solid, handsome, worth it.
I received this yesterday and got it together in a couple of hours (I’m older than I used to be... it could have gone quicker). I was pretty impressed, actually: The top section came in one box, pre-assembled... nothing to do there. The bottom was in a 2nd box, in pieces as I expected, but went together very smoothly... everything was pre-drilled precisely. The fire-box was in a third box, ready-to-insert. Come to think of it, there were two screws that weren’t pre-drilled — the *last* two screws required — for the backstops on the firebox (to keep it pressed against the front opening)... easily fixed. — We did have one *dent* on the front-edge of the top piece. No fault of the manufacturer, the shipping box was punctured. Fortunately, the damage is subtle enough that we decided not to pursue it. Roll-of-the-dice... so... not a complaint — just an observation. (FedEx, if you’re wondering.) — The overall quality is excellent... no complaints there. It’s a very solid piece of furniture, and looks great. No doubt this will last for years. I deeply appreciate the backing is solid and screwed on... not cardboard, tacked on, like so many others. The windowed doors with smoked glass, look great, and the overall fit and finish (of everything) is well-done. I guess I’m trying to convey: The extra cost is *here*... this unit is more expensive than others we looked at... but the extra money *does* show up in build-and-material quality. — The firebox is lovely... peaceful. We’re old, and have more traditional taste, so we put the log in... rather than the crystal... and set it to a traditional looking fire. Very nicely rendered. (Our cat is fascinated... will sit in front of it and ... just ... stare.) The heater is my only real negative... it’s anemic... it’s basically a built-in hairdryer. To be fair, the product’s description says it’s suitable for a 400 sq-ft room, which is a *really* small room. So, fine. Fortunately, we had zero interest in the *heat* feature... we wanted the fireplace-look. In fact, I was thrilled to find the *heat* feature can be “locked” off... so it can’t be turned on accidentally. I suspect it will never be turned on again. — The remote is OK: One big button at the top for on/off, one side of little buttons for the fire-and-embers, and the other side of buttons for heat. Each button cycles the firebox through various options... and it took a bit of exploring to decide what effect we wanted. If you missed something you like... keep pressing until it comes around again. Meh. Again, we’re old, we found the settings we wanted and, from now on, will probably stick to on/off. I wouldn’t mind *two* remotes with just an on/off button! ... but that’s me. — One last comment: They mention this is a “Bluetooth” fireplace... and tell you how to download an app for it (iOS or Android). However, the app they suggest you search for doesn’t exist... and there are a TON of “Bluetooth fireplace” apps that show up in response to the search... but I was able to figure it out because I saw “Muskoka” on one app’s icon (don’t ask - I forget the actual name). Here’s the thing, they *all* have terrible (1-star’ish) ratings. Given my comment above, that we’ll probably never do more than turn it on and off, I decided to skip the app. — Feature suggestion: You know what this is missing? I’m being serious, here... *sound*. A silent fireplace is a little weird. But, we have a HomePod Mini sitting on top... so, when we were done assembling, cleaning, and settled down to read for the evening, I asked it to play “crackling fireplace”, and it was perfect. Muskoka: I’d rather ditch the virtually worthless “heat” feature, and add a variety of fireplace *sounds*. ... show more

Absolutely beautiful but for the price paid ($1,100) it should be in pristine condition. Unfortunately, even though packaged extremely well, one of the corners of the top piece was dented so it had to have been packaged at the factory with the flaw. Also, it’s always hard to determine exact color online but I was hoping that it would be a deeper color with more red hue. Still it should blend with our existing bedroom furniture okay. One minor problem is that the knobs on the doors hit on the other side when trying to close (the knob holes are pre-drilled) so we might have to change to smaller knobs. The assembly was quite easy. Everything lined up precisely and the hardware is top-notched. We will install the fireplace today and hope the installation goes smoothly and that there are no issues with missing parts or operation. Side note: The seller, Electric Fireplaces Direct Outlet, is highly recommended for such fast service. ... show more

This console exceeded my expectations. The look is upscale furniture, the fireplace has better visual flame and log appearance than I have seen on any other fireplace. The materials were damaged free. Assembly took about 3 hours.

This fireplace is a beautiful piece of furniture. When we received the boxes, one box had significant damage. We opened it first and found only a few scratches on what would be the underneath of the mantel, which would be attached to the fireplace. It wouldn't show, so we took the mantel out of the box to find the front of the mantel had a dent. After discussion, we decided we could cover it up, but would let Fireplace Direct know. We found a chip of wood missing out of the back of the mantel, but again decided it wouldn't show. We then found scratches which would be inside the cabinet, and probably wouldn't show. Neither my husband nor my son could get the screw out of the glass on the front of the fireplace to remove the pieces. The screw stripped, and we had to figure out how to get it off and put a new one on. After the fireplace was assembled, we moved it into place. It is a beautiful fireplace. The heater worked well. The flames were somewhat realistic. We were really pleased with this purchase. UNTIL, I opened the drawer to put things away. I noticed the inside drawer/slide was not attached to the facing. Then when I looked further, I noticed the drawer facing was broken next to the dovetail. We are so sad and disappointed. I was prepared to write a glowing review of how beautiful and easy to assemble, but... ... show more

    • Spend the extra money to get a quality piece of furniture
The fireplace TV console was delivered weeks early, and came in three large heavy well-padded boxes. The wood cabinet is beautiful! I love the lights inside the side panels. The hardest part of assembly was putting on the doors. I’d suggest doing that from the back before affixing the back panels. The fireplace is amazing, with varied light and color combinations.     • You need to request "white glove delivery" AND "Assembled".
It is a beautiful piece. Fits very well in our living room holding our TV and adding warmth of fireplace. When call came to schedule delivery I learned that it would come set in garage or inside of entry. I then was told I needed to ask for "white glove delivery" if I wanted it in living room, taken out of box and box taken away. When it came there were 3 boxes! and it had to be assembled! This I learned was another part (assembly) I needed to request when scheduling delivery. Thanks to my husband being able to "build" this, we have a media fireplace. ... show more
