Very simple to use and works great! Germination rate was better than expected so I've learned to use way fewer seeds. The timer works perfectly and I love the water aeration feature. It's pretty quiet. I often don't notice it and when I do, it reminds me of a gentle tabletop fountain. Just a very soft trickling/gurgling. My seeds germinated and grew so fast that I had to transplant to make room on it. This is a perfect model for beginners (like me). I will update on longevity/durability in time. ... show more

Positives: 1. Up and running very quickly. Largely plug & play. 2. Packed well, foam cushioning. Kept all parts from damage. I noticed other reviews mentioned issues, but I had none. 3. Pricing was good. Picked up a different machine for my son (iDOO Hydroponics Growing System) that was very similar, but about 30% higher cost. 4. Water/nutrient tank is huge. I do have mild uncertainty about this though, as more nutrient additives are required for the tank size. Instructions indicate changing water every 2 weeks, so I'm wondering if I'm throwing away nutrients as the tank might actually be too large. We'll see. 5. Pump fired up and seems to circulate water very well. Time will tell if it holds up. Negatives: 1. The iDOO Hydroponics Growing System included covers for (up to) 12 unused holes. MUFGA includes only one hole cover (for the water). 2. The Planting Baskets are not 100% universal. They sort of fit in the iDOO system, but stick up higher as the baskets for the MUFGA have tabs that slide a bit inside the unit. Not a big deal, as the generic baskets that can be purchased elsewhere, will fit into this unit. It's just the ones with this unit may not port 100% into a different manufacturers unit. 3. Customer support contact and warranty information can't be found in the manual. Who do I contact if something does not work? I suspect if the lights or pump fail, the entire unit will be trash. But, for this price point, this seems a good beginners kit to test out if interest will be maintained. Other: 1. Would be nice to include some seeds. Cost is not high for MUFGA to add, even if the consumer does not like MUFGA's selection. Plan ahead and purchase seeds so you unit just sits without anything growing. My son went with herbs, while this MUFGA unit is handling veggies. 2. As mentioned above, throw in covers for unused holes. I will make an effort to edit this review moving forward and provide growth updates and longer-term performance of the MUFGA Growing System. ... show more

My girlfriend bought this to grow plants for natural dyes and I have never seen plants grow so fast in my life. It looks nice wherever you put it, the lamp is adjustable for when the plants get taller, the "pot" spacing is perfect, it does sound like there's a healthy stream running through the room behind me at my computer but after a few days you just tune it out. This system has been ok so far. Double the size of my aerogarden. Easy enough to set up. That being said, I do not like the button set up on the top. Difficult to select, not sure if the sensors are weak or just not very good on this unit. Also it does not alert you when to add food or water like aerogarden. I also hate the stickers that came to be put on each pod. I think the aerogarden had these come already on the units. I’m growing strawberries and the stickers are sticking to the new plants sprouting and not sticking that well to the plastic. One other note the plant food that was included was pellets that had to be dissolved in water and then each one added separately. I prefer the food designed for the aerogarden. Overall it’s a decent unit. My seeds have sprouted. Having owned a different unit, I am a little pickier about features. ... show more

See update below regarding great customer service from the seller, DINGHUI BUSINESS I purchased the Mufga 12 pod grow system in November 2022. It worked well during the first grow cycle producing salsa peppers, chives, dill and basil. The LED panel failed about half way through the second grow cycle just when the tomato plants started producing fruits. Only the red LEDs light. All others don't light. I will not purchase this product again however I will purchase some LED light strips to stick on this grow system so I can continue to use it until the pump fails. At that point it goes in the trash. I have looked for a replacement pump to have as a backup and after an extensive search, could not find the same pump with the same footprint and electrical specs. Update 3-31-2024. I sent a message to the seller and they sent me a replacement free of charge. It is my opinion there are 3 types of Amazon sellers, Great, Good and Bad. This seller is great and I will buy their products again. Their About statement is absolutely true. It’s great for the price. Others are over two hundred dollars. Everything germinated in just a few days. Very easy to set up, comes with everything you need. Highly recommend. Update. Now that this is set up for two weeks, things have germinated, however, mold is an issue with these pods. Several things that came up where lost due to mold. Plant people say non diluted hydrogen peroxide is safe to use. I am going to try it. ... show more
