Right off the bat, you should know that this a case for a very specific application. If you want a case that is not a folio style, adds as little weight and bulk to your Kindle as possible, and you plan on putting a Popsocket on the back, this is your perfect case. You can stop reading here if you want. The nitty-gritty: It's essentially just a TPU bumper attached to a thin sheet of clear polycarb making up the back. This design is super friendly to Popsockets and much lighter than an all-TPU design. Off the top, it's also worth mentioning that there is one major downside to this case; the smooth back is one hellacious fingerprint-magnet. I've included a photo to show this. I didn't clean the Kindle in any of these photos, so you can see what the smudges really look like, with the case alone and with a picture underneath. But the smooth surface also makes it a snap to wipe clean and it protects the back of the Kindle, which is an even worse fingerprint-magnet and much harder to clean. Adding a picture under the back plate does make smudges much less noticeable. On to the pros: The case design is whisper-light; with a Popsocket attached, it comes in at just under 63g on my scale. It adds almost no bulk or weight to the Kindle. The polycarb back is a perfect mounting surface for a Popsocket. It's also a great canvas for decorating. You could sticker-bomb it, paint it, put photos or images under the clear back, cover it in fabric or PU leather, get it laser-etched or media-blasted, or whatever else you can imagine. I attached a picture of mine with a bit of Dungeons & Dragons artwork placed under the back plate. The TPU bumper frames anything underneath nicely. The fit is perfectly snug, and the cutouts are super precise. It feels sturdy in the hand and adds grip. It protects the power button from accidental presses. The reinforced corners are reassuring. The raised lip on the front of the case keeps the screen from touching a flat surface when the device is face down. If you use magnetic charging cables, the charging port cutout will accommodate the adapter easily. I have a screen protector that almost goes edge-to-edge on my Kindle and the case doesn't interfere with it at all. Overall, I really like this case. I tried a folio case but found it awkward for long reading sessions and it made the delightfully light Kindle much heavier than I liked. This is just enough to protect the Kindle and make it easier to hold without adding anything else. It's not much to look at on it's own, but it a great canvas for personalization. It's perfect for home use and could slip into a sleeve case for travel. It's also way better than putting a Popsocket on a naked Kindle. I can say enough good about this lightweight protective case. I purchased the dark plum with sparkles. The glitter is extremely fine, not big chunks. The case is extremely flexible and smooth while being a bit grippy at the same time. The corners are slightly raised for extra reinforcement protection. Finding tablet cases is always a painful experience for me. My fire 10 tablet took 4 tries before I got something I could live with. The final case was made by the same manufacturer as this one. It's a very simple, clean design, and it fits my big old arthritic hands. I love it. The Kindels are so light you don't need much to hold onto but I get cramps trying to hold my tablet. Not any more. This a basic TPU case, but fits perfect with this Kindle. I like the smoky color and how easy is to put it in. The cut for the power boton, charging port and led indicator are perfect. I think this is a great option for the price.
