  • Amazing Device
Size: 10.3 inch-ink
This 10.3 inch BigMe E ink color tablet is perfect for dam near everything you do on reg LCD,LED screen phone tablet computer monitor. Why?. Because your looking at electronic ink paper. The light source comes from your bed lamp the sun or any other outside light source. I've had and still do use LCD and LED screen displays. But this by far is the best device you can use for comfortable book reading, Web browsing and taking notes. Pen works perfect, You can lay your whole hand on the screen with pen in hand and write just like you do with real paper and pen. If your a Comic book or illustrated novel reader. you will love this device. For a ink tablet the colors are GREAT. For a Ink tablet Videos play GREAT also. If you find yourself stare at your phone led tablet computer monitor all day everyday.. YOU need something like this to help give your eyes a break from the blue light. Now this tablet does have lighting control which can reflect some blue light.. But that's only if you like to read or surf in the booth in the back in the corner in the dark. E ink displays have been around for a very long time. Bigme now upgraded the E ink display with color in a astronomical way. One of the major reasons you would want something like this, is of course to help protect the health of your eyes. ... show more

  • Big screen, poor color
Size: 10.3 inch-ink
A large panel, but the color reproduction is very poor and the device suffers from extreme ghosting.

  • Great product for meeting note taking, drawing, and book reading
Size: 10.3 inch-ink
The product uses E-ink technology for display, not LED/LCD, which significantly reduces eye strains for serious readers. It is an excellent product for business meeting such as recording, note taking, and voice transcription. The Tablet is a great product for students for their note taking, drawing, and book reading. On top of that, it comes with free apps such as ChatGPT and Multi-lingual text translation. The camera can be enhanced for document scan and text recognition capabilities. ... show more

  • Lots of extras, disappointing battery life
Update** With airplane mode on and the lights off, battery is great, for a tablet; okay as an eReader. With both cold and warm lights on, airplane mode: battery life is meh. With only warm lights on, airplane mode on: battery life is okay. With all lights off, but WiFi on: battery life is meh. Overall opinion after using it for a while: Think of this as an Android tablet with a stylus that you don't have to be always online for and can use in the sun without trouble. Don't want to carry around a 10"+ android device and still want to take notes? This is it and you can't do better. This wasn't that hard to learn or adapt to. I was amazed by the capabilities. I love that I didn't need an account to use their built-in chatgpt. The notes and pen experience was responsive and not like glass. Love that the google play store is available. But, I'm not sure the security of Android 11 is great. It kept logging me out of things on other devices because it looked suspicious. Still, with the aid of the camera option with Google translate, I was set. Here's where I have gripes: The battery life is Disappointing.** (see update) What is the point of having 6GB of RAM if at all times with minimum activity, half of that is in use? With some optimization and updates to android/firmware, this would be great. Still, I already own an 8" device with better battery life, contrast and color. It's a full tablet, but, at the price of this one, hard to justify. In conclusion: if you already own an iPad mini, put a paperlike screen protector, leave it in airplane mode, and you pretty much are set. However, if you are in the Android ecosystem, want one device with multiple eBook platforms, chatGPT, better Chinese translator, go all in on this. It's the best 8" android option we have so far with this level of processing, storage, and extras. Just don't think it's going camping with you. Now...a day outside at the park? Oh absolutely! ... show more

  • Slow, and apps crash all the time.
Size: 10.3 inch-ink
So I bought this over a year ago to replace my Kindle because I found myself reading a lot of online fic, and I wanted an eink tablet that had a good browser that I could use. (I know that kindles have their own browser, but have you tried using it? It sucks.) I wanted eink instead of a regular tablet, because I do most of my reading at night and didn't want light beamed directly into my eyeballs right before going to bed. I decided to go with the Lite model because I didn't really want to do much with it besides read and maybe do some browsing, so the lower price point was attractive, plus it ran on Android so I could install Kindle and Kobo and it had a much bigger screen than my Kindle which was great for my old eyes. Plus I could read manga and comics on it. And it mostly does what I want. Not exactly well, mind you, but it works. There are several major problems that keep me from recommending this product. First and foremost are the crashes. I find that fairly often it'll crash out of apps and dump you back onto the home page. Usually you can just open the app back up, but there are times when that doesn't even work, so you have to restart the device. It wasn't so bad when I first bought the thing, but for the past few updates it's been getting worse and worse. The good news is that Big Me patches the tablet fairly frequently so maybe in a later update they'll fix this. The second most frustrating thing about the tablet is that I *constantly* have to fiddle with the DPI settings in order to make the text in the apps readable. When you keep it at the default 300 DPI, for some reason all the apps think that you're reading a 17" tablet and will set the text to teeny tiny which makes it impossible to read. If you bump that up to 600, then things look more normal, for the most part. Whenever there's an update to the app, or to the system, you'll have to go back in and reset the settings. As far as the color goes.... enh. Take it or leave it. It turns out that a full color eink tablet is bad for reading comics on, since you get a lot of ghosting when you switch pages, and you have to do a *lot* of fiddling to minimize that. Plus, if you're like me and like to read at night, keeping the light low really washes out the color and makes things hard to parse. Manga, on the other hand, it excels at. The last thing is that it isn't all as fast as its cracked up to be. I'm putting this last because a lot of it is because with eink technology you're going to have a choppy experience when you're dealing with webpages. That's just the nature of eink. But still there's a noticeable lag between when you swipe your finger and when the tablet responds. I think at this point I'm ready to get a new tablet to replace this one. I'm probably just going to get a regular tablet and hope my eyes forgive me for the injustice of the strain I'm about to put on them. ... show more
