I have to admit that this lumbar support pillow took some getting used to. I had to figure out what position worked best. However, once I was able to do that, it's been very helpful and I always use it. If you have any back problems, like sciatica and degenerative disc, to name a few, I would recommend that you try this product. It's shape is quite different from the lumbar supports of the past, which is a good thing. You can place the cushion wherever you need it, whether it's low or mid back, too. Remember, though, that it will take some time to get used to. Don't give up after one or two tries. I understand that it's not easy to be patient when you have back pain, but, in the long run, you likely will find that this cushion helps. ... show more

The pillow is not too soft and not too firm. However, in a chair, it will not stay in place. You lean forward, it drops. Any time you leave your chair, it drops. Quite an annoyance.
