I've added to this regarding usage experience. Separating the parts for loading is easy. Loading into our SUV goes great. The individual components are lighter and easier to load than a wheel chair. Works great, easy to maneuver. Speed control is responsive. People have commented on how easy it is to load after seeing me in the grocery store parking. Just recieved and assembled it. Super easy! Don't know about the performance yet, I'll update that after we've used it some. Notes on receiving and assembly: 1. The box is heavy. 100 pounds heavy. You may need help. You will need some sort of wheeled device to move it. (If you don't have anything, buy a two wheeler from Lowes or Home Depot. Use it this once, clean it up, and return it for refund. Just say you changed your mind.) 2. Lay the box flat on the floor. Right side up. Cut the straps and carefully cut the tape. Don't cut deep. Open the box and take out the easy stuff. Read the two page instructions. No, really read them. 3. After you take out the easy stuff, cut all 4 corners of the box to lay it flat. This will give you easy access to the rest of the parts. 4. Following the instructions, complete the assembly. Charge the battery 12 hours! If you want to move the assembled scooter look on the right rear fender. Little lever with pictures on the sticker. Move the lever forward and roll the scooter where you want to. Move the lever back to lock. 5. Clean up and dispose of the packing. Sit down with your preferred beverage and read the instruction book like I'm getting ready to. ... show more

The scooter arrived much quicker than expected. Over all it is a nice scooter. Very streamlined in appearance. The leather seat is extremely comfortable. The controls are very easy to use and the scooter controls very easily. It does fold down nicely to fit in a trunk as described. However even after taking the battery pack off it is a bit heavy and wI'll require two people to lift it into the trunk or rear of the vehicle. Might be different for someone who has full use of their legs though. I can't stand and lift anything heavy. Overy all the scooter is very nice and we'll worth the money. Tire & tube had to be replaced after just 4 months. This scooter was used on inside hard service only. There is no reason for them to go bad that quick unless they were defective. I called the company that I bought it from and they said that 1 tire and tube was $55.00. I ordered 2 from Amazon for $31.99. Beware of these companies that sell on Amazon. ... show more

Just got it today. It's very easy to put together. But, It's definitely too heavy for a elderly or handicap person to put in and out of car by themselves. This is not meant for carpet, but rides ok on hard wood floors. Took it outside and it does well on side walks, street, and short grass. I'm 5'2 and it's just barely big enough for my short legs. Anyone taller than myself would have a problem. I have to put my feet above front wheels, not the place right in front of me. As far as speed, it goes pretty fast. ... show more

Just had this delivered to replace my current scooter. It is nice but the seat is very low and the top height is very low and makes you feel as if you are on the ground. Perhaps it is better for taller people as I am 5"6. Other than that, it has a lot of nice features like charging your cell phone right from the scooter and the back up light and front lights. ... show more

I love my purple metro mobility scooter. The price was good for it. To use on my cruise, it was perfect for it, it went through my cabin door great. It didn’t fit in some places the shops I wanted to go into. The seat needs to be more softer, it was to hard on my tail bone. Need more room to get my feet on the scooter the humps are to high that over the wheels in front. I had to use my hands to pul my legs up higher to get my feet on. This scooter runs well at first but is really rickety. However, I have had it less than 2 months and the battery is already beginning to fail to hold a charge and new ones cost $200-$250 each, which I did not realize. It is very small, totally not suitable for anyone over 5'2-5'4" because of lack of leg room. I can't afford to be buying a new battery several times a year! ... show more
