  • Great quality affordable compound saw
Style: C10FCGS Only
My old "Craftsman" chop saw finally "bit the dust" while using it. Bushings and armature burnt up so had to get a replacement saw. Never heard of this brand before but it had the features I was looking available and the price was affordable as opposed to outrageous. It was packaged really well and it was delivered the same day I ordered it, (with free shipping). So far this exceeded my expectations. Once I unpacked and got it set up and began cutting, I was very impressed. The "safety" pin was easier to operate. The calibration angles were more precisely marked. The safety guard sided up and down with ease. The carbide tip blade it came with made precise "clean" cuts. The motor itself sounded "tight" instead of a loud shrill like most saws do that "wind down" after cutting a board. Overall I was rather impressed and "very happy" with this saw. Plus this saw has a feature my old chop saw did not, it is a compound saw. I usually don't do very much "bevel" cutting but if the need arises, now it is covered. Two thumbs up for this saw. ("Merry Christmas" to me, I got myself a really nice chop saw and I didn't have to mortgage the house to pay for it". ... show more

  • Out of the Box, setup, and test
Style: C10FCGS Only
Ok folks lets review this puppy from a 1st impression to final test perspective. Package came undamaged just like in person at your local B&M store. Very well packaged inside, no issues there. Price was spot on,for the intended use. ( small trim work, nothing more ) "Dummirections " aka user manual easy to follow. Bonus ! After installing the few things that came for inital setup, the usual stuff needed, per the dummi.......Made some tweaking to a few things like loose bolts/screws, overtightened tight bolts/screws, just to tweek in the personal needs. First off the blade that comes with it is pure JUNK, if you use it, it's for a desperate need to cut. Get a good blade folks. 2nd, it is a low end priced unit, expect nothing more than that. Quality wise, actually it's a quite good saw, the blade guard needed tweeking. So I put on a cheap new 60T blade and made some cuts on soft pine cull 1x4". Cut true @ 90, same at 45, right out of the box, per the stops on the table. pretty spot on, nice !. Didn't try the single bevel option, since I probably won't need that on this project. Overall, it's a good go to saw in a pinch, DIY for a "honey do" list heck yes ! Contractor grade ? Not really, only because of the noise level, vibration of motor, loose feeling weight at <25lb. and other things that I care not to go into here. Overall, I should have bought 10 of these, no joke, I I have good vibes on this unit, it's well worth the investment. If your looking to " keep up with the Jones" for less $, pull the trigger on this one. A good craftsman can always make it perfect. ... show more

  • Gets the job done!
Style: C10FCGS Only
A bit hard for me, a novice, to set it up (had to watch a youtube vid). The instructions aren't the best. But once I started using it, it works great. Clean cuts even with the stock blade. Good overall miter at a great price.

  • Great for hobbyist/ DIY home repairs
Style: C10FCGS Only
Works well, cuts well. Not too flimsy but not durable enough for a job site. Ive used it on small projects and to install framing for new screen doors. Worth the $ for my limited carpentry needs.

  • Great price, very good saw.
Style: C10FCGS Only
I got sick of miter saws that aren't accurate and decided to read a bunch of reviews online. Read that this brand/model was very accurate out of the box and it certainly is. I have been using double bevel, sliding miter saws for years and wondered if fewer moving parts might increase the accuracy. I think it just might! Not to mention it lowers the price considerably. Everything feels tight, well made and comes with a good sharp blade (installed). Cuts like butter, although I haven't tried cutting a 4 x 6 yet. We'll see! Very happy at this point. ... show more

  • GREAT little saw - Great value
Style: C10FCGS Only
This is a great little "chop" saw. Cuts 2x4's and 2x6's (straight cut) with ease. Save the big expensive 12" DeWalt saw for cabinet making. This is a great secondary saw for framing and generally abusive cutting.

  • Perfect entry-level, homeowner/hobbyist/DIYer tool
Style: C10FCGS Only
Pros: 1. Came dead-accurate out of the box. Positive stops all work well, and everything was square 90 degrees (or whatever angle or bevel you desire) wherever I set it. You may need to adjust the gauge needles though (I did); 30 seconds and a Phillips screwdriver, no problem. 2. Despite being lightweight, it doesn't feel cheap. Plenty of well-machined metal where it counts, and most of the plastic feels rigid, thick, and of notable quality. I want to stress this; I'm replacing a Craftsman miter saw with this and the difference in the quality of plastic jumped out at me. Not thin or flexible or creaky in the least. 3. Setup an assembly was fairly easy. Cons: 1. By far the biggest con is the blade guard. While everything else feels quality on this machine, the blade guard feels cheap and floppy. It's attached with just a single screw on one side, and there is significant play. If you were to bump it somehow while the blade is spinning, there can absolutely be contact with the blade. Shouldn't be an issue if you use it as intended but be aware of this. 2. The instructions and pictures were a little lacking. If I weren't familiar with miter saws already, I might have gotten confused at several points by the mediocre instructions. 3. I bought a nice 80-tooth blade and it was a pain to change out. The arbor nut was WAY over-torqued from the factory. Had to bang on the included allen key with a hammer to get it to break loose. There's only just enough space for the blade so be careful not to bang up the teeth getting it in. Holding the arbor lock switch in while also holding up the flimsy blade guard while ALSO trying to bang the over-torqued bolt lose was a heck of an experience. 4. The dust collection chute behind the saw is laughably small. I won't take off for this because it was $100 and all miter saws are dust demons but it's even more ridiculously bad on this than most. You'll need to figure something out, or take it outside (fortunately it's the lightest-weight miter saw I've ever encountered). Overall it's. A redesign of the blade guard would take this tool from very good to excellent. This miter saw strikes me as being a quality tool that will work out of the box with minimal setup and adjustments, and do 99% of what 99% of people need a miter saw for. The Craftsman saw I mentioned that I'm replacing with this was a sliding variety, but I never needed the capacity for all the years I've had it. This 10-inch non-sliding will cut through two 2x4s at once. If that's not enough for you, you're likely a high-level professional. For just about everyone else, this will do everything you ask of it for half the price of one of the fancier brands. ... show more
