Description

Get the flexibility to water multiple areas with a 4-Zone digital watering timer. Simply set how often and how long you want to water and let the timer do the work for you. Use a sprinkler to frequently water a newly seeded lawn, or soaker hose to run every other day in a flower bed, and keep the vegetable garden from getting to dry all controlled by one easy to set timer. Need to fill a bucket up or spray off the deck? Just use the manual watering option. If rain is in the forecast, use a rain delay to pause the watering for up to 7 days and it will automatically start again when the delay is over. Whether you are home or away, make sure you never forget to water again! Ensure you always have a leak-free seal with additional filter washers. Melnor has included 5 extra filter washers so you can easily replace them if they become lost or worn. Need additional information or assistance from Melnor? Leave feedback or ask a question below. • Do not purchase! Other brands are better!
I purchased this product at the start of the 2021 summer. My return window ended back in June. A few days ago I noticed we had dead grass and blueberry bushes... Yet I had it running daily at 3am. So I went out and tested it and 2 out of the 4 nozzles no longer worked. I tried resetting it and they still don't work. Changing times, taking out battery etc. Now I have 3 year old dead blueberries. I have another one of these (different brand) that I purchased from Wilco 3 years ago and it's still going strong. This one couldn't even last one summer! When I initially set it up everything was working then it randomly died. Do not purchase this item! ... show more

  • Worked perfectly for watering during vacation
We purchased this to replace two older water timers that only had two zones each. This can run four individual zones, which made it easy for us to water our lawn, potted plants and vegetable garden while we were out of town. A single timer won't handle it because the pressure becomes too low with four hoses running. The product was reasonably solid (although plastic) and instructions made it simple to program the four zones. Within a few minutes I was able to set it up and test it with no issues. It worked great while we were gone and it looks like we'll be able to use it for many years to come. I recommend this to anyone who needs help watering plants/yard on a schedule or during vacation. ... show more

  • Unreliable, don't last long.
I have had two of these and within a few weeks the screen has started to fail on both. The second one has not only got the screen problem but niw it thinks fully charged batteries are almost dead so won't work at all. I returned the first one to Amazon and I think I got the second at Home Depot so there's no chance if a refund there after a year. I won't buy another, that's for sure. No way to contact the manufacturer either. Very disappointed. Bobea ... show more

  • Unit completely failed after one season.
The unit was very easy to set up and install. I programmed it to irrigate four different zones overnight and it worked like a charm. At the end of the season I disconnected it, took out the batteries, and stored it in my garage, where the temperature never fell below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The following spring I installed fresh batteries and put it back in the garden. It never worked properly again. The programming I entered never stuck; it would start to send water through one of the four zones and then cut off. Sometimes I could manually initiate the flow of water but then it would randomly cut off. The display would start blinking and resetting to the factory settings. Ultimately the unit just quit, and now the display doesn’t activate at all. Needless to say, I’m very disappointed by the unit. Anyone have recommendations for another brand that works better? ... show more

  • Easy to program
Has worked great to water newly planted plants and grass seed. I also have it run my drip lines for my raised beds. Convenience of having a programmable irrigation system without the cost or permenance. My yard is naturally pretty swampy in most areas for part of the year and bone dry other parts. I don't need a full on irrigation system so this is perfect. Ive never been successful with my raised beds because I forget to water but I did driplines, set this and Ive got a great crop of tomatoes and okra coming on. I like that it has several run programs and you can do each zone different times within that program repeat times schedule options is excellent. Only thing I don't like is if you just want to run a hose quickly you have to do a manual start and run for minimum of a minute which is way longer than needed to wash your hands. I added a 2way splitter between hose bib and timer so that I have a 5th opening that is not on the timer because it's easier for quick water rinses plus then my husband only uses that one and he won't mess up my programing or accidentally turn off my timer. ... show more

  • Good Timer, Great Customer Service
I bought the timer 2 summers ago and it has worked perfectly for my needs. Unfortunately within the past few weeks the timer started leaking all over the place. It states it has a 7 year warranty, so I called their customer service number and told them I was trying to get a warranty replacement and they took my info and said they would send it out to me today. Hopefully it will arrive quickly and we'll get back to having the water system up and running again in our 100 degree weather here in AZ. I'll update if all doesn't go as it seems at the moment. :-) ... show more

  • Conked out after a couple seasons
Pros: Easy to set up, comes with sensible defaults Cons: Manual mode turns on ALL selected zones _simultaneously_. You can't have it cycle through them in manual mode. Makes manual mode pretty much worthless unless you're just testing coverage for a single zone. Spongy buttons started to get stuck (go to press + or - and have it zip along after you let go because the button won't pop back up). And it conked out completely after a couple seasons. It seemed as if the batteries were dying (which they shouldn't have been, and in fact when I took them out and tested them they were both nearly fully charged still). Resetting every few seconds/minutes. Unable to open the valves anymore. In short: It was fine for a while, but now it needs to be replaced, and I will likely go with a different brand. ... show more

  • Product works great but...
One of the claims of this product is that you can set up to 4 times per zone. It is ONE trigger per each of 4 zones. Menu does allow you to water repeatedly in each zone once triggered. E.g. you can set 1 zone to trigger at 8am and then repeat that every 1, 2, or 4 hours, or every 1 to 7 days but not multiple triggers for each zone. It does have 1 quirk that is well documented in the instructions, IF YOU READ THEM! The valves may get open during shipment and installation. Ive had this happen to me twice. Its easy to fix if you read the directions, however, I see from other reviews here that most did not read the directions that clearly tell you how to fix and avoid this problem. Simplified: you just have to pull out the battery pack when this happens. Once set up and working the open valve issue will not happen again unless you disconnect the unit and man-handle it which could cause a valve to open again. ... show more
