It seems even better than the bigger 7.8” Meebook. It is light and fast. With physical buttons to turn pages it also comes with magnetic cover in the bundle that turns on and off the e-reader. Very happy with the purchase so far.

    • Good with a fatal flaw
It seems like a very nice e-reader. There is one fatal flaw though, the power button. As you may notice, one side of the device is wider, and has page turn buttons. All well and good! And if you read in bed, on your side, you hold the reader in the left hand when on one side, the right hand on the other side. You can engage auto-flip for the pages automatically, so it orients correctly, as you'll turn the reader "upside down' so the wide edge, and page turn buttons are available for you. Yet if you do so, the power button is right where you'd hold the reader. It's a very, very strange place to put the power button. You literally cannot hold the book without constantly pushing the power button, meaning this contraption is only to be held in your right, not left hand. Lefties are being left out, and also people reading on their left side are too. Very strange. ... show more

    • Such great concept! But so glitch-y.
As Kobo Libre H2O (my preferred reader) and Kindle user, I so wanted to break out of "proprietary jail" and be able to read all kinds of files on one reader. Specs for Meebook were just right for me: real network capability with Android OS, physical page turning buttons (helps to read outdoors in gloves), landscape mode, warm light, speaker (USB-C is nice too) - sounds wonderful, right? Now, the sad reality... The device started stuttering right out of the box. I really had to cajole it to use English in settings, had to wait and use multiple pokes. The reader freezes somewhat unpredictably even with just one app open, so physical buttons become unresponsive too. Landscape mode is a disaster: the text comes in two narrow columns (or at least, I couldn't find a setting to change that) and if switching back to portrait, it might just close the book altogether (in Kobo, the automatic portrait-landscape works silky smooth). Enlarging the font resulted in unpleasant gaps between words (didn't see such effect in other readers), I couldn't find an option to control justification/alignment. But the most interesting glitch is "nervousness," especially in landscape mode: holding the device can trigger changing screens, go back etc. But browser, app store works just fine.     • I want to like it but ...
I want an ink table similar to my kindle. With the feature of read other apps as wattpad. The tablet works with kindle and wattpad but , the navigation buttons that are used to change pages do not work with applications other than the brand's own. Just for this issue , I dislike it.

This was an early Christmas gift from my husband. I love this e-reader. I've been looking for an e-reader that I can use for all of my subscritions and this one is perfect. Libby, hoopla, kindle and scribd (everand), all work well. I love the size, the page turn buttons and being able to control the brightness with a finger swipe. I love not being stuck on my Paperwhite with amazon books being my only choice. Love it!!!! ... show more

Cons: USB-C port struggles to accept USB-C wire Device isn't compatible with certain websites, such as AirBNB, no matter how one adjusts the Contrast or other settings Instruction Manual is beyond vague Device doesn't come with stylus Single speaker No microphone means no speech to text or voice command capability Non-YouTube streaming tends to overwhelm the device, meaning NetFlix would be hard for this device to handle Pros: Case itself is adequate for carrying and protecting device A2 Mode is very good for streaming videos through YouTube for a few hours at a time Size of screen and perfect white light means video files or YouTube can be watched for a few hours at a time without eye strain (and my eyes are in horrible condition!) Night Vision and Bed setting cause almost zero eye strain 1 TB hard drive Bottom Line: This is the best budget contemporary e-reader for people with severe eye strain/eye pain/inflammation of the optic nerve. If you don't have this issue, there's no reason to buy this device. Watching YouTube videos or movie files during the daytime - in a sun-lit room - shouldn't produce any pain or strain. Device is barely different from Onyx devices, meaning it's quite easy to learn how to use the thing if you've used an Onyx device. I got mine for a bit cheaper off AExp. This is what the E-ink world lacks, a larger variety of Android based e-ink readers. Finally something friendly on the eyes you can read articles with and install your own preferred browsers, e-reader apps, etc. There's a couple other brands that also make Android readers and they are all worth checking out. I think this is a good budget reader. You can definitely find it cheaper elsewhere. My biggest complaint with Android e-ink devices is the inability to root these devices. This device is no different. The reader comes with apps that I will not use and cannot disable or uninstall. They pointlessly drain the battery. The only e-ink devices I know of that can be rooted is the A5 and A9 Hisense e-readers. They're cellphones so the screens are much smaller and they're more expensive. ... show more
