I have only had it a few days so cannot comment on longevity. But its build quality looks good, and the electronics work easily and correctly right out of the box. I did not buy the cheapest listed on Amazon, but this is not far from it. Beautiful packing... My first thought was I would give this as a gift. Glossy black box, high quality glossy inserts and guide (although it is obvious that English is not a first language it is understandable.) So, on to the machine. It has the same high quality and elegant appearance as its box and packing. Controls are very easy to understand and use. By the time my coffee is ground the water is ready. The temperature hold is very helpful. I used to have to stand over the stove and watch water boil. Now it is set and forget. If I walk away, or during the pour itself, the temperature is maintained without boiling over. Oh, it did not have a that horrible lip on top that traps water. I have seen only a very little water in the bottom of the pot after draining. I did check the water temperature with my lab thermometer, and it was within one degree on the boil and on the hold. So, good quality, good performance and great looks. I will give one to my son for Christmas. Now it's just a question of how long it will last. Total time from grind to finish was 11 minutes. that included preheating the pour over pot and the cup with hot tap water. ... show more

This kettle replaces my "starter" kettle, one of the el-cheapo ones that uses the same generic controls-in-handle as 93 other kettles. That control is awkward and a bit difficult to get exactly where you want it. This one, on the other hand, has it built into the base, and it's straightforward. It gets the water to the temperature you set it for, and then it keeps it there. If you take the kettle off and put it back on, it returns to the same temperature. It remembers the temperature from session to session. You can also leave it on the base and turn the whole thing off. The other cheap one I had couldn't sit on the base because it doesn't really have a power off option. The gooseneck on this one is exactly the diameter I'd want and has a nice tapered end. The flow rate is perfect for the pour-overs I make, which is the James Hoffman Ultimate V60 method. I couldn't be more pleased with this kettle. Mine did have a problem with the lid where a solder bond came loose and the lid started coming apart. The company's customer service answered my inquiry within an hour, which was especially impressive as I sent it at like 10 PM. They wanted a photo to see which lid I had, and then again within like an hour they already had another one packaged up and on the way to arrive in the next day or two. Any product can have a problem, and it's how the company handles that problem that makes the difference. This one gets top ratings for an excellent product and keeps it for having handled the one-off problem so well. That was above and beyond. ... show more

Got a great price on it (lightening deal for like 50% off or so). So far so good. Seems nicely made. Nice look and finish. Everything works as stated. Two minor complaints: 1. its smaller than I thought. 2. The wait time was pretty long, but did end up coming a little earlier than estimated.

To be completely transparent, this little kettle is very fancy for what I am currently using it for (which is just boiling water for my tea) but since it's made for barista-use, it has the perfect little spout for pour overs. The kettle itself is very cute, it's extremely lightweight and easy to use. :D You can change the temperature that you want your water to boil at using the base that it sits on and it boils quite quickly (if that is something you take into consideration when buying an e-kettle). It's also extremely quiet but you can set an alarm to go off once it's done boiling. I love my little kettle and I can't wait to keep using it! ♥ ... show more

Love everything. The longer I use this the better and better I like it. It great because you can change the temperature any way you like the temp of your tea. Not sure about ground coffee as I haven't triedthat yet, tho I do use instant coffee and its good with that. Tho I don't really like instant coffee. Lol the hold feature is great I use it all the time. It is one of the few that offer 2 hour hold time. I haven't needed to use the part where it automatically shuts down to prevent the pot to burn with out water in it. As I almost always use the water in the 2 hr hold. If I don't use it during that time. Then there is water still in there, but I have the ease of knowing that it will not boil dry and hurt the pot. ... show more

If you have a lot of pure white appliances, do not get the Milky White because putting it next to the pure white ones will only highlight that this color is not pure white. The base, handle, spout, and body of the kettle are all a cream-white type of off-white. The little lid is actually a little whiter but it's more like a grey-white off-white. And neither colors are pure white. (I have pure white containers and appliances this kettle sits next to so it stands out.) Digital screen is very nice and shows the degrees to the 0.1 degree. Buttons are very clear. Have not used this for a long time yet so will talk about durability later.
