  • Durable machine and used daily.
Model: MXC 2.0.
I have owned a Maxiclimber since June 2020. I have been using it consistently throughout the past three years. In 2023, I have been using it daily. What I like: - Well, I enjoy working out on the Maxiclimber. I use it at least 30-60 minutes when I hop on. The intensity of the workout is based on how much effort you want to put in, as it is your body weight that is supporting the resistance anyway. I use this machine contorting my body in all different ways as I workout, to target different muscle groups more, and have only slightly tipped over. It well balanced and can handle really hard workouts if you upkeep with it (such as cleaning the the rollers and metal, lubricating the rollers). - I appreciate that it can fold up for easy storage. While I normally just keep it open, there are times when the weather is nice outside and I want to take my workout outdoors. It's not a problem with the Maxiclimber, and I love to put a long climbing session in when the wind is blowing hard. - I thought the foam grips might be cheap and not long-lasting when I first purchased the Verticlimber, but they're holding up well and seem suited for gripping I must do to successfully workout. Only one of the foam pads has finally started disintegrating and crumbling. Will just replace the grips with bicycle grips probably. - It is low impact on your knees and back. I have some slight knee issues and feel no stress on them when using this machine. What I don't like: - I don't like how clunky the activity logger on the central part of the machine is. I am 6'0'' and found that my thighs would crash into the plastic casing sometimes when trying to go hard on the machine. I ended up just removing the black plastic case that was mounted to the verticlimber, as my phone can keep the time for me. - I do not like how wobbly the extended top handles feel sometimes. In certain situations, when gripping the top handles and while working out, the top bars fit inside the connecting base with extra space inside. So if you are pulling down on a stride while climbing, you may hear a clanking sound. This has been happening to my unit since 2023, and I can feel when it happens and try to control it, but when I am exhausted from a tough workout I may not be able to stop the clanking as much as my hands pull down on the handles. That's it though. The pros of the Verticlimber certainly outweight the cons in my opinion. I was apprehensive of climbing devices when I first started looking for home workout equipment, so settled on this affordable verticlimber. Now, I find myself wanting to use that more than anything else in my house or even going to the gym. I originally though I may want the upgraded version of this unit when mine finally breaks, but why ruin a great experience? Update: 11/30/2024 I wanted to edit and update my post. The original machine I use still works. My rollers were starting to wear out and I felt a noticeable rumble but I was able to order 6 replacement rollers very easily from the manufacturer for about 17 dollars (with shipping). My cable was starting to wear out and shred apart, but I ordered a new a-style 59" cable from amazon for 6 dollars to replace the original. In total I have spent around 25 dollars to upkeep this Maxiclimber in 4 years of owning it. The machine works very well again and I am impressed at how easily it is to replace worn parts. ... show more

  • AWESOME WORKOUT MACHINE!!!! (Additional Edit)
Model: MXC 2.0.
Just received mine today. A snap to put together. For the money, I am really impressed by the quality. This should last a long time. I started using it right away, and I can tell you honestly that this will give you a major workout. For me, I do have to take it slow at first because of my age and knees, but I feel that over time it will be a huge benefit for me. I love cycling, and lately I have been having difficulty, and with the help of the MaxiClimber, I will be in better shape to tackle the roads. My wife absolutely loves it. She does a lot of walking and climbing stairs at work, and now she can stop the stair climbing. I have been asking her to stop, or at least go with someone, because one never knows who might be lurking in the stair well. Do I recommend it? You bet I do. If you are wanting a great workout, this is the machine to use. Saves a lot of money and time going to a gym. Edit: WARNING!!! Be careful not to lean back too far. It won't take long to get used to using the MaxiClimber, but PLEASE be mindful that it can tip backwards if you are not careful. Both my wife and I tipped it backwards when we first started out. We are OK now with it, but not being used to it, it tipped a bit for us in the onset. If you use it properly, it will be fine. We obviously didn't. So be mindful of that when you use it, especially in the beginning. It was just user error on our part. It doesn't affect my rating, as I feel it is an excellent work out machine. Just make sure you use it like the manufacturer intended. Additional Edit: Remove the plastic housing on the front. I have found that because it curves outward, it impedes the normal movement of the legs. As your legs go in the upward direct, they hit or rub against the plastic housing forcing you to move your legs outwards and not straight up and down they way they should. Because of this, I have had some issues where I needed massages. After removing the housing, my legs now go up and down straight the way they are intended. Whether this may be an issue for you or not, just watch out for it, because it was a problem for me. If you take a look at the Conquer Vertical Climber, you will know what I mean. It doesn't have a plastic housing and as you will see, your legs will go up and down properly. ... show more
