It's a very soft item that adds a lot of support when you lean on it. However, the real product wasn't as "arc" (as in phi if you look at spherical coordinates) as shown in the image. So, the side of the lumbar support pillow didn't hug the side of my waist as the other "very arc" lumbar support, or as the cover image shown. My wife has been suffering from backpain. Her doctor suggested it was caused by the poorly designed chairs that she was using. I searched for an item that might be able to remedy the situation. Many of the reviews for this product noted that it was helpful for backpain, so I took a chance. I wish to add my very positive review of this product to the group. My wife noticed the improvement in about 2 weeks. She placed it on her easy chair and watches TV for about 3 hours every night. This is quite a bit smaller/thinner than I expected. Still works but I was looking for thicker foam. We'll see how it holds up on our recumbant exercise bike. Also, the strap should be adjustable. I had to double it to get it to hold properly.
