  • Very Nice Bench at a Reasonable Price
Color: Deluxe - Red Trim
This bench arrived well-packaged and undamaged. The screws, washer, nuts, and 2 hex Allen wrenches were presented in a vacuum-sealed package. The only tool the user needs to supply is an adjustable wrench. The spot welds did not have any gaps or cracks. The powder coat has a slightly rough texture, but coated all of the metal. The rubber ends for the feet insert into the metal frame rather than wrapping around it. The vinyl bench cover was in perfect condition with no gaps where it was attached to the bench. Assembly was easy. The holes for the screws are not precision-placed, so start all 4 screws that adjoin the frame to each foot before tightening. Same thing with the 2 screws adjoining each end of the frame to the underside of the bench. I am a small frame woman and I anticipate that this bench will serve me well for many years. ... show more

  • Simple and sturdy, good height
Color: Deluxe - Red Trim
I'm 5' 10" but I have short legs (30" inseam) and I didn't want a bench that made me feel stretched with my legs dangling off. This is just right for me at about 16.5". If I sit on the end and lie flat back, there are several inches left above my head... and I have a long torso. It's over 43" long. It slides easily on carpet. It's very rigid/stiff. The foam is firm and dense. The cover is a nice vinyl. It doesn't smell funny. I feel confident it can hold my 200+ lbs and the weights I'll use in my home gym. 1 install tip; notice that the 4 L-brackets are slightly different lengths on each side. If you follow the instructions, it becomes obvious. The install was very easy/straightforward. All in all, nice bench for the money. ... show more

  • Been perfect for us
Color: Basic - Black
We have an adjustable bench press that we hate. It's too tall, too wobbly, and too heavy. We ordered this and it's been perfect. It was very easy to assemble and the construction seems solid. Took me about 15 minutes by my lonesome. It's very light weight so moving it around the home gym is easy. It's very stable, which makes it less worrisome when benching heavy. The height off the floor is perfect, allowing us to plant our feet flat and generate leverage. We only have 300lbs in weights, so that's as high as we've tested it's weight tolerance, but I (215) can comfortably bench the 300lbs without feeling like I'm taking a risk, although I don't think I would go much higher than 315 and save the heavy days for when I have access to commercial grade equipment. The only negative I have is that the overall length is kinda short. This is good for saving space, but I have found myself in position where my head isn't fully on the bench. I just have to readjust the bench in relation to the rack, but a regular commercial bench is definitely longer. I feel I can recommend this for anyone that is trying to cost effectively build their home gym who will NOT be going over a 300lb bench. If you are pressing more than that, I would suggest you invest in commercial grade gear. With COVID-19, we have made the decision to build our gym the way we want and forego memberships, so I will eventually replace this with a more robust piece, but will keep it around for other uses since the quality is good. As a side note, Gold's Gym memberships are a pain in the rear to cancel... ... show more

  • Great bench
Color: Basic - Black
For the price, this is a great bench. It’s lightweight and easy to put together. It’s shorter than other benches but I wanted shorter.

  • Very solid
Color: Basic - Black
(For latest update, see update below) I thought I would take a chance on this bench since it was so cheap, and I couldn't be more satisfied. It was packed well and went together in about 5 minutes. It is a testament to the effectiveness of this bench that even during the assembly stage I could already feel substantial gains in my lats. A quick mirror check confirmed this to be true. All the parts were there, and an Allen wrench was included. Just make sure you have a regular wrench for some of the bolts and some bourbon for overall health and well being. I hopped on for a few quick reps to test it out and found that it was incredibly solid - absolutely no wobble at all. My other FID bench has a tiny bit of wiggle that is a constant bother. With the indicated 600lb limit, this should be fine for heavy lifting for just about anybody. Unfortunately my compression socks were at the dry cleaners or I would have tested that limit. Maybe next time I'll update on the max capabilities. Finally, the padding was nice and thick and firm. I couldn't feel any bolts underneath, and it gave nice support - not too spongy. One thing I noticed was that the user limit was 300lb, but the max limit was 600lb. I don't know how the bench knows if you're a 400lb guy lifting 200 or a 200lb guy lifting 400, but you probably wouldn't want to get those two hypothetical scenarios mixed up. If you're 305 and want to a bit of iron hoisting, I would suggest doing a bit of cardio and maybe some sauna first to hit that 300lb limit. (Update: 09/30/2015) I see that some people have been having issues with the durability and/or stability of their units. Maybe some others have purchased lemons, but mine is still rock solid over a year later - no wobbles, no weld failures, and no problems with the stitching. The padding is also still very firm. This is with consistent 3-4x per week of use, unless it is holiday season where usage drops precipitously in honor of the festive spirits - both beer and bourbon. I still have yet to test that upper weight limit, but I'm getting the kangaroo leather inserts redone on my weightlifting gloves. Once those bad boys are back from the tailor and they are properly oiled and conditioned, I'll be ready to max out and give it a go. ... show more
