I have this for several fires now and will get right to the good and could be better. The good: *Looks great *built solid *nice cover *Definitely low smoke. It does smoke at startup and if you let it burn down and add several logs all at once. No one ever waves their hands anymore trying to get the smoke out of their eyes. It's just not there. My clothes and hair still have a little smoke smell when done, but I'm the one lighting the fire and adding wood. *Burns hot. We have been able to roast hotdogs and marshmallows with a good flame. No more waiting for the logs to burn down into coals and the flame to disappear. As long as you have some good coals under the fire, cooking is good with a flame. Actually need to keep it farther from the fire than you would think. The could be better: *Opening is not as big as my firewood. I had to cut all my logs in half. If they stick out of the top of the pit, you get smoke. I've not burnt the bag of wood that came with it. I prefer a long fire with logs. *Because the fire is down in the pit, the heat is not felt as easily when sitting nearby. The heat has to go up first. It's good for a summer fire, but when the temps were in the 50's we had to stand next to it to really feel the heat. *the recommend letting the fire just burn out naturally and the coal cool overnight. I.e. no water to put it out. If you do that, the fine powder is easy to clean up. If you put it out with water, it is a bit of a mess to clean up. And if you don't clean it up, the water will cause it to rust. So I recommend you let it die out naturally. There are very few sparks and pops with this fire. ... show more

So obviously it's not "smokeless" ...BUT does an amazing job of directing smoke upwards and away. My gripe with other firepits has always been too much smoke blowing your way when sitting around, depending what the breeze is doing, how much moisture is in the wood etc....plus it always follows me for some odd reason. No more with this firepit. It was very easy to set up, it's not very heavy, and provides excellent heat. Plus directs smoke away, due to the way it is constructed, means a little above your head if you are sitting around it. You will still get the smoke and also feel it if you are standing around it. Looks great too. Gives a great glow reflecting off the inner walls when the wood has changed into embers. ... show more

We didn’t really understand firepits and outdoor living until we moved to Minnesota. Now we use one regularly to spend more time outdoors, prolong the season for being outdoors, and simply enjoy the coziness of a fire pit to bring family and friends together. We decided to upgrade to the Tiki Stainless Steel Low Smoke version and already we love it. It was very simple to put together. It took about five minutes. I love the design and that it is incredibly sturdy. It’s manageable to move easily. It’s got a diameter of 25 inches, so it does not take a huge amount of space. Best of all, I love the wood-pack that came with it. It was very easy to light and because of the depth of the fire pit itself, I was able to do it easily in high winds. The wood pack created a robust fire that provided a lot more warmth than I expected. And it was truly SMOKELESS! The packs last a little over thirty minutes which was perfect for us. With our old fire pit, in order to produce a similar fire and heat, we would have had to build a pretty big fire and tend it to for hours after the fun. I’m glad I can use regular firewood or the wood pack, however I am already a huge fan of the ease of the wood packs and the certainty of knowing when the fire is out. I immediately signed up for monthly delivery of the Tiki wood pack and was eligible for a ten percent discount on the packs. The fire pit has been a great addition to our household! ... show more

    • Enjoyable fire
I've been using it for two weeks, and I like it a lot. At first, it seemed shallow to me, but I later realized that this is a positive feature. I find the fire here much more enjoyable than in all types of solo stoves. I prefer having a visible and beautiful fire, even if it means sacrificing some smokelessness. This pit may produce a little smoke when starting, but that's okay. Overall, I really enjoy it, and the quality is good. ... show more

Not completely smokeless. LESS smoke for sure but even when burning hot you see smoke and with cross winds your clothes do smell like smoke. Pit itself is built sturdy and looks good. For the price it is a steal compared to some of the other popular options which are either not built as well and changed for the make OR are overbuilt and cost way too much. I sort of regret the purchase but it has also not given me much trouble. Cleaning the ashes is the greatest thing about this fire pit. ... show more
