  • Excellent
Color: Black
We were initially unsure about this but it works excellently for the price. The fly wheel is sturdy and well built and provides realistic inertia to the machine, the knobs are easy to use and the machine was relatively easy to assemble. I also use the same stock seat and cannibalized these pedals into a bicycle, using flat pedals on this machine instead. The handle bars give a lot of hand positions, but are pretty hard, one would almost need gloves if going for a 30 minute work-out. The machine is stable, I would rate it 9/10 for stability, its stable climbing out of the seat, certainly on the seat and only becomes very slight unstable if leaning on one side for instance, so it isn't rock solid. It is noisy because it uses friction for resistance, probably double the noise of some much more expensive models that use magnets for resistance but if you are using this while following a spin class work-out video (GCN on Youtube has excellent videos for free) or simply watching TV, you do not notice it at all, especially with head phones. The only criticism is the bottle cage, I tend to bump into it when using the machine, easily solved by removing it; and at home, there is really nothing to stop you from stopping your workout for a second and getting a drink. Its also surprisingly easy to move around with its front roller wheels. Use daily with GCN on Youtube and it will yield results. With free shipping, it is the best bang for your buck. ... show more

  • Great durable bike with heavy resistance
Color: Black
1st day arriving- extremely well packaged with very attention to detail when it comes to where they put all the items you need to assemble the bike. It comes 80% assembled, all you need to do it screw in the bottom two bases, the seat, and the handlebars. It is extremely sturdy with the ability to stand and pedal without the bike shaking vigorously. Took me about 30min to assemble. Things to keep in mind- make sure you match the left crank to the left pedal vice versa, if you put the right pedal on the left crank. YOU WILL STRIP OUT THE CRANK AND CAUSE THE PEDALS TO FALL. This will render that crank useless thus the entire bike a oversized paper weight and needing to be replaced. if while twisting the pedal onto the crank you feel resistance STOP, you are putting the wrong pedal on. Make sure everything is screwed on tight, I didn’t use the included tools I had proper tools so I got it much tighter than I would have if I used the included. THE SEAT HAS BEEN CHANGED! I see a lot of reviews that talk about the horrible seat included, I had actually ordered a seperate seat but when this bike arrived the seat it came with is wide and extremely plush and squishy so I returned the one I ordered (pics included) Things I don’t like: I’m 6’0 and it is ever so slightly uncomfortable to reach the handlebars, I can remedy this by lowering the seat but by doing that I can’t fully extend my legs so that makes it more uncomfortable. this can be fixed if Marcy added additional holes for adjustment in the posts and their is room to do so. I could imagine you can drill out holes like another reviewer did. But if we’re talking stock and no changes, if your over 6’1-6’2 then definitely look elsewhere. It makes a clicking sound which I believe is coming from the chain not the actual flywheel, I can imagine it can be fixed with either oil or a tweak to the adjustments in the chain but not a lot of people are handy to fix this like I am. Will update in a few months EDIT 5/03/30- the different cushion seat That I said was so soft and cushiony is actually too soft that it provides no support for your butt, you sink and your basically sitting on the rock hard base of the seat. DEFINITELY replace the seat once you buy. The handlebar foam really soaks sweat so I can imagine it’s gonna break down in a few months and tear apart. PRICE BUYER BEWARE- I noticed Marcy as a company changes their prices for their bikes often in increments of $50-$150, I paid 249.99 for the bike, I’d suggest to not pay anymore than that, it’s not worth in my opinion the current $350 price tag. As far as being uncomfortable like I said in the first review, I’ve adjusted to it. It no longer pains my back. But I can imagine a person over 6’0 would not adjust to this. END OF EDIT 05/03/20 will update in 4-6 months ... show more

  • Buy it. Absolutely worth the price.
Color: Black
I am an active person in normal times- I walk a ton and am a frequent gym-goer. But quarantine has thrown a wrench into all that. I could do resistance exercises and weights on my own, but getting the active cardio I wanted was more difficult, since I have a tendonitis issue that running aggravates. Enter the idea of buying a spin bike. I'm a Soulcycle fan, so I knew I would enjoy having one, but I wasn't about to lay down two grand for a Peloton. I hunted for mid-range bikes from companies I trust, like Schwinn, but apparently I was not the only one to have this bright idea during self-isolation and they were all gone. I really wrestled with the decision to buy a budget bike from a lesser known company, since it seems like a difficult thing to return, but now I'm so glad I went with this Marcy bike. My husband and I have used it every day since receiving it almost a month ago and so far, so good! First, the few cons: -If you're taller than 5'8", this might not be the bike for you. There is no horizontal adjustment on the handlebars and the footprint is quite small, so your knee to handlebar distance could be problematic. There also isn't a ton of height available in the seat or handlebar vertical locks. I use the seat at the highest available setting. That said, every body is different and this is mainly speculation, as I'm 5'4" with long legs and my husband is 5'7" and it's fine for us. -Sometimes when I'm really tapping it back in my workout I feel a little play in the floor connection at the handlebar end. Nothing that feels dangerous, just a bit of movement between the bike and the floor. -Maybe a con for some: the bike seat is wide and very padded. If you're used to a lower profile seat, you might not love this one. I'm an avid rider and it doesn't really bother me. I actually canceled the gel seat cover I ordered for my husband because this seat is so cushy. Pros: -GREAT VALUE. This bike is absolutely worth every penny and then some. Sure, it's more old school chain-driven with felt resistance, but it's quiet and in good working order. -Easy assembly. Had it together in a few minutes. -It looks good! So many other budget spin bikes on here look "budget". This one is sleek. -It has a small footprint. I believe it's only about 41" long. We placed it in front of a guest room window next to a closet we frequently use and it doesn't feel cumbersome at all. -Cushy seat! For those new to spinning, or just not a fan of "bike bruise", this seat has you covered. It's different than the Amazon photos. Check out my pics for reference. -Easy to move. On nice days, we sometimes wheel it it outside to the deck. Get the right tilt angle and the wheels are your friends. Some tips: The assembly instructions we got came with an extra page that was an added step: a sort of revision. Make sure you include that step in assembly. It has to do with pedal safety. This bike has only "basket" style pedals- no clips. An easy thing to switch if you prefer to clip in. Also, this bike has no accessories. No phone holder or rpm meter. These are easy to add on if you wish. I prefer rhythm rides so it doesn't faze me. You'll see in pics, we just use a towel across the handlebars for our phones. There are plenty of clip on holder options out there. Pics are from before we received our Sunny Fitness bike mat to place underneath. Now it's there and works great. OVERALL: I am beyond pleased with this purchase. It's keeping my husband and I fit and sane during quarantine. 100% recommend! UPDATE: 2 and a half years later and it's still going strong and looks great! We use it almost every day. So great to have in the winter months! 2nd UPDATE: It's been 4 years and this thing is still going strong! We use it every day. Worth every penny! ... show more
